4. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

• Keep children away and do not allow children to operate this device!
• Only use this product for its designated purpose!
• Do not manipulate or disassemble the device!
• For your own safety, only use accessories and spare parts that are stated in these instructions or that are recom-
mended by the manufacturer!
• Never exceed the permitted roof load of your vehicle. To check this, consult the manual of your vehicle, or ask the
manufacturer.
• Remember that the behaviour of the vehicle when driving with a roof load will change considerably under brak-
ing, with side winds and when negotiating curves. Adapt your driving style accordingly.
• Remove all parts that may be lost before starting your journey, this includes air pumps, batteries of electric bikes,
drinking bottles, battery-powered lamps, navigation systems, bicycle computer, tool bags or baskets.
• Remove all bags from the bicycle before starting your journey.
• Do not use protective covers for the bicycle during the journey.
• Pay attention to the increased height of your vehicle with the bicycle mounted on the roof, especially when nego-
tiating tree-lined roads, tunnels, underground garages and multi-storey car parks.
• Prior to each journey, check the roof rack, the bicycle rack and the bicycle and ensure that they are securely and
firmly mounted.
• After a short stretch, check the firm and safe seating of the roof load and continue to check at regular intervals.
• When not in use, remove the bicycle rack bracket for traffic safety reasons.
• Never drive faster than 130 km/h when the bicycle rack bracket is mounted.
5. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
5.1 MOUNTING THE BICYCLE RACK BRACKET:
The bicycle rack bracket must be finished. Take all of the components out of the packaging and set them out clearly. Check the scope
of delivery. Every stage is described and clearly shows which components are required for the assembly of the bicycle rack bracket.
5.2 FINISHING THE HOLDING BRACKET
1 x Wheel rail with holding brackets
1 x Lock screw M8 x 120
1 x Coil spring 10 x 80
1 x Knob nut M8
1 x Knob nut M8, lockable
3 x Washer 15.8 x 8.5 x 1.1
Insert the lock screw from the outside, through the bar of the holding bracket which has a pivoting threaded rod at the end of it. Now,
using the following order, fit a washer, the coil spring, and a second washer to the lock screw. Compress the coil spring and guide the
lock screw through the drilled hole on the other bar of the holding bracket. Push both bars together in such a way that the thread of
the lock screw protrudes from the bar by approximately 15 mm. Fit the third washer onto the lock screw and then screw the knob nut
onto the thread. Screw the lockable knob nut onto the pivoting threaded rod.
5.3 MOUNTING THE BICYCLE RACK BRACKET ONTO THE ROOF RACK
1 x Wheel rail w. mounted holding brackets
2 x U-shaped bracket M6 55 x 55
First remove the end caps from the wheel rail. Undo the nuts on the underside of the base plate
in such a way that it can slide along the wheel rail. Place the U-shaped bracket with flat bridge
in the T-groove on the underside of the wheel rail. Place the wheel rail loosely on your roof rack.
Pay attention to ensure that the knob nuts of the holding bracket will subsequently face the out
from the vehicle. Align the wheel rail in such a way that both ends protrude beyond the cross-
piece of the roof rack by the same amount. Now slide the base plate on the wheel rail until the
cross-piece is located between the drilled holes of the base plate. Slide the U-shaped bracket
in such a way that the other cross-piece is located between the threaded bolts of the U-shaped
bracket. In doing so, do not change the position of the wheel rail.
