S 4.3: On (up):
= Immediate continuous unlocking
follows signal pulse at terminal 40 or
terminal 3 (condition on delivery).
S 4.3: Off (down):
= Continuous unlocking follows signal
pulse at terminal 40 or terminal 3 only if
contact-making is maintained for approx-
imately 5 seconds. This setting prevents
the unintentional activation of a con-
tinuously unlocked mode.

S 4.4: On (up):
= Acoustic alarm (terminal 9) in door
terminal "on" (condition on delivery).
S 4.4: Off (down):
= Acoustic alarm (terminal 9) "off"

– central emergency opening activated
(720-22 only, terminals 16/17)
– central release activated (terminal 38)
In the event of a general emergency un-
locking mode being effective on several
escape doors, this setting can prevent a
potential panic (possibly triggered by the
acoustic alarm in the door terminal).

Direct connection of fire detectors

A fire detector loop can also be connected
to the 12 V DC loop at terminals 45/46 of
the escape door control unit type 720-
20(22). If a fire detector is tripped or even
if a line break or short circuit occurs in this
loop, the power supply to the locking
element will be interrupted, with the result
that the door will be unlocked and an alarm
set off (see description under „Unlocking
with alarm").

Loop voltage:
Terminating loop resistance: 2400 Ohms
The detector loop must be closed with a
2400-ohm terminating resistor.
NB: To reset fire detectors after being
tripped, the key-switch in the door
terminal 1337-... must be turned
twice to the „Unlocking" switch
position.
NB: If no fire alarms are connected, the
terminating resistor, which has
been connected to terminals 45/46
by the factory, must be left in
position.
Connection of an external fire alarm
system, terminals 16/17
The tripping contact for an existing fire
alarm system (closed current loop) can be
connected to the escape door control unit
720-20(22). If the fire alarm system is
tripped, the escape door control system is
switched to the emergency unlocking
mode with alarm signal and is thus
unlocked. If the fire alarm loop is inter-
rupted or there is a line break, the system
likewise goes into the emergency un-
locking mode with alarm signal.
NB: If no fire alarm system loop is
connected to the escape door
control unit 720-20(22), terminals
16/17 must be bridged with a
jumper.

control inputs are scanned and their
