18. Never wrap the power cord around the
appliance.
19. Use the electric kettle only indoors.
20. Use the appliance only for heating water. Do
not use it to heat milk or other liquids, since
they will boil over when heated.
21. Never heat objects such as cans or bottles in
the electric kettle.
22. Make sure that the lid of the appliance is
always completely closed, to prevent injuries
from hot splashing water.
23. Do not open the lid as long as the water
is boiling, to prevent injuries from hot
splashing water.
24. Never fill the appliance with more than
0,5 liters of water, to prevent the water from
boiling over.
25. Never switch on the appliance if there is no
water in the kettle.
26. Make sure that all users, especially child-
ren, are aware of the danger of injury from
emerging steam or hot splashing water –
danger of burns!
27. Do not move the appliance as long as it is in
operation, to prevent burns from splashing
water.

tion, which means the appliance shuts
off automatically if the heating element

oPeration

Due to it's power rating and protective class the travel kettle cannot be operated with an Euro plug
(dipole). Please check before your travel which type of power sockets are used in the respective
country and check if your travel adapter has the correct socket for the kettle. Please check also the
available voltage in the travel country.
The travel kettle 18575 cannot be switched off by operating the switch, but only by the automatic
boil stop. Therefore it might happen that the appliance starts immediately to heat after being
connected to the power socket. In such case bring the water to the boil and wait until the automatic
boil stop switches off the appliance. For the next boiling cycle use the ON-switch. Wait always until
the appliance is switched off automatically.

transport safety devices.
2. Clean all parts with a damp cloth, as
described in the chapter "Cleaning and
care" on page 12.

power cord regularly for wear or damage. In
case of damage to the power cord or other
parts, please send the appliance or the base
for inspection and repair to our after sales
service (for address, see warranty terms).
Unauthorized repairs can result in serious
risks to the user and void the warranty.
32. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer or its service
agent or a similarly qualified person in order
to avoid a hazard.

is boiling. If the kettle is overfilled,
boiling water can splash out.
