Setting multiple programmes
Prior to operation, the microwave can be set for up to 3 programmes to run consecutively,
e.g. the microwave function first, followed by the light-wave function before going back to
the microwave function again in order to ensure the food will still be exposed to additional
heat. The multiple-programme feature applies not only to the microwave and light-wave
functions, but can also be used with any of the combination programmes.
Example: using the microwave function first, followed by the light-wave function.

Hint: This memory function is especially helpful when using the microwave to cook food
at different power settings. While a higher power setting is selected initially, the
power can be reduced at a later stage in order to keep the food hot, and to ensure
that the heat is evenly distributed when the food is already done.

Tips for defrosting food
When food is to be defrosted, it should be taken out of its packaging, placed on a suitable
plate which is then put onto the base plate.
Turning/stirring
Almost all types of food must be turned over or stirred once during the defrosting process.
Make sure you separate pieces of food that are stuck together, and rearrange them.
Smaller portions
Smaller portions defrost more evenly and quickly than larger portions. If food is to be
defrosted in a microwave, it is therefore better to prepare it in smaller portions before initial
freezing.
Standing time
Allowing the food to stand for a time after defrosting is also important, as the defrosting
process continues. The table below shows the standing times for different types of food.
Food should be consumed soon after defrosting. It is not advisable to freeze it a second time.
This table gives an approximate reference only. The times and weights listed can vary.
