OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
CHAIN LUBRICATION OIL
Use high quality chain lubricating oil to minimize wear between the saw chain and guide bar
while in use (fig. 9).
We recommend using SAE No. 30 in the summer and SAE No. 10 in the winter or when cutting
resinous wood. Refill oil tank every time fuel tank is filled.
WARNING
Never use waste or reclaimed oil. This results in damage to the oil pump,
saw chain and guide bar.

STARTING THE ENGINE

WARNING
Start the engine at least 10 feet (3 m) from the fueling area to minimize the risk of
fire and burn injuries. To reduce the risk of saw chain contact injuries, always start
the chainsaw on the ground, on a firm and level surface.
Do not drop start the saw. This method is very dangerous because you may loose
control of the saw.

STARTING A COLD ENGINE

1. Place the fueled chainsaw on the ground (fig. 10). Make sure the guide bar and the saw
chain are free from any obstruction.
2. Disengage the chain brake by pulling the chain brake lever backwards toward the front
handle until an audible click is heard. The chain brake is now off.
3. Set the ignition switch to the "START" position (fig. 11).
4. Pull choke lever all the way out (Choke position).
5. Depress the primer bulb fully 7 times (fig. 12a).
6. Securely hold the front handle with the left hand and place the right foot in the rear handle.
Maintain good balance (fig. 10).
7. To prime the chainsaw, pull the starter cord several times until the first firing sound.
8. Push the choke lever all the way in.
9. Pull starter handle until engine starts.
10. Depress and release throttle trigger to allow engine to idle normally.
11. Allow engine to warm for 30 seconds before using.
