OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
-
Use only an approved fuel container.
-
Do not allow open flames, sparks or smoking near fuel.
-
Fuel cans may be under pressure due to temperature. Loosen fuel caps slowly
allowing pressure to equilibrate.
-
Never refuel saw with engine running or when engine is hot.
-
Do not fill fuel tanks indoors. Always fill fuel tanks outdoors over bare ground.
-
Securely tighten fuel cap after refueling.
-
Inspect for fuel leaks. Do not start until leakage is repaired.
-
Move at least 10 feet (3 m) from fueling area before starting the chainsaw.
-
A fire extinguisher should be positioned within easy reach of the fueling area.

MIXING THE FUEL

-
Gasoline – Use 89 Octane [(R+M)/2] or higher gasoline or gasohol containing
up to 10% Ethyl alcohol.
-
Two-stroke oil – a two-stroke engine oil meeting ISO-L-EGD (ISO/CD 13738)
and JASO FC Standards must be used.
-
Do not use any type of pre-mixed gasoline/lubricant from fuel service stations.
This includes the pre-mixed gasoline/lubricant intended for use in mopeds,
motorcycles, etc.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Gasoline to two-stroke oil ratio is 40:1. (3.2 oz of oil to 1 gallon gasoline)
2. Fill an approved container with half of required amount of gasoline.
3. Add the proper amount of two-stroke oil to the gasoline.
4. Close container and shake to mix oil with gasoline.
5. Add remaining gasoline to the container, close and remix.
6. Mix in small quantities. Do not mix more fuel than can be used in a 30 day
period, 90 days if fuel stabilizer is added.

FILLING THE FUEL TANK

1. Clean the surface around the fuel tank cap to prevent contamination.
2. Loosen fuel cap slowly to equilibrate pressure.
3. Carefully pour fuel mixture into fuel tank. Do not overfill, leave room for
expansion. Avoid spillage.
4. Replace fuel tank cap and hand tighten.
5.
Wipe up any fuel spillage.
Note: It is normal for the engine to emit smoke during and after the first use.
WARNING
Check for fuel leaks. If any are found, correct them before using the saw
to prevent fire or burn injury.
