Cleaning and maintenance

Warning:
Always switch off the unit and disconnect it from the mains during any servicing and
maintenance work. Never work alone. There should always be two people with electrical
experience present when servicing and repairs are being carried out.
6.1

Cleaning and maintenance of the mixing mechanism and bowl flange

T he following parts should be kept clean to achieve a good vacuum:
• v acuum passageway in the mixer lid
• s inter filter on the flange of the bowl
• s eal on the mixer lid and connection for the bowl on the unit. The rubber seals can be
removed for cleaning under running water
• a ll contact surfaces of the O-rings and bowl
• t he notches on the edge of the bowl. These are used to lock the bowl in position in the
support and must be kept clean
• T hough the bowls are made from unbreakable plastic, extreme loading of the mixing bowls
should be avoided.
6.2

Cleaning the unit

Wipe the unit occasionally with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or tools.
Caution:
Never use compressed air, water or solvent to clean the unit. Never steam clean the unit.
6.3
Cleaning and changing the sinter filters
T he sinter filters in the flange of the bowl (illus. 3, Pos. 2) should be checked once a week for
dirt. A visual check can be made without dismantling the filter.
If the filter is very dirty, it should be unscrewed with a slotted screwdriver and cleaned in an
ultrasonic cleaner.
T he sinter filters (REF 908-587-00) should be renewed every 1 – 2 years depending on how
much the unit is used. This is the only way to ensure that the fine filter inside the unit does not
get dirty.

Note: Never use the AIRVAC 2002 without the sinter filters.
6.4

Changing the fuse

T o change the fuse, first switch off the unit and disconnect it from the mains.
Remove the fuse holder on the multiple unit (illus. 3, Pos. 1) and insert a new fuse T 3, 15 A.
