b) projection clock
In the battery mode, the integrated projector is activated (approx. 5 seconds), only if you
press the "SNOOZE/LIGHT" button (1) at the top of the projection clock .
If the included wall plug transformer is used, the project is activated permanently. The
batteries then serve as support batteries, e.g. during power failure.

Connect the included wall plug transformer with the corresponding socket (12) of the projec-
tion clock and insert it in the power socket.
-
Open the battery compartment (18) on the back of the projection clock by sliding its cover off
downwards.
Insert three type AA/Mignon batteries with the correct polarity (observe +/Plus and -/Minus).
You will find an appropriate diagram in the battery compartment.
After inserting the batteries, the projection clock sounds a short audio signal and the display
shows all the display elements.

If only unintelligible symbols appear in the display, press the "RESET" (17) button in the battery
compartment (e.g. with a tooth pick) or remove the batteries for a few seconds or disconnect
the wall plug transformer from the projection clock.

Close the battery compartment again.

The projection clock starts the reception attempt for the detection of the available outdoor
sensors; the sensor number flashes at the bottom of the display. This reception attempt lasts
a few minutes.
Do not put the projection clock near electronic devices, metal parts, cables etc. as these
worsen the reception. This is also true for the following DCF reception. Poor reception
can also be caused, for example, by metallised insulation glass, reinforced concrete con-
struction design, coated special wallpaper or in basements.

Then the projection clock attempts to receive the DCF signal; this is displayed by a flashing
radio tower symbol just to the right of the secondary display

The detection and assessment of the DCF signal can take about 5 minutes. During this time, do
not move the projection clock. Do not use any buttons.

When the projection clock has read the DCF signal correctly, the current time of the day
and the date is displayed and the radio tower symbol stops flashing. During summer, "DST"
(= "Daylight Saving Time" = summer time) is shown above the radio tower signal.

The DCF signal is a signal which is broadcast from a sender
in Mainflingen (near Frankfurt am Main).
Its range is up to 1,500 km and, under ideal reception con-
ditions, even up to 2,000 km.
Inter alia the DCF signal contains the exact time of day
(accuracy is theoretically 1 second in 1 million years!) and
the date.
This means there is no complicated manual setting needed
for summer and winter time.

The synchronisation of the projection clock with the DCF signal is done daily at 02:00, 08:00,
14:00 and 20:00 hours. One successful reception attempt per day is enough to keep the devia-
tion of the display below one second.
The radio tower symbol illustrates how strongly the DCF signal is received. The more the
lines that appear, the stronger is the signal.
If there still is no current time shown on the projection clock's display after 10 minutes,
change the installation location for the outdoor sensor.
Then press the RECEIVE button for a short duration in the battery compartment of the
projection clock to restart the DCF reception attempt.
Alternatively, the time and date can be set manually on the projection clock.
installation/assemblY

The projection clock and the wall plug transformer may be operated only in dry, closed indoor
rooms. Place the projection clock on a horizontal, stable, sufficiently large surface. Protect val-
uable furniture surfaces by using an appropriate underlay, otherwise it may cause scratches.

The outdoor sensor is intended for installation in a protected outdoor area; hang it via the
opening (F) on a screw or nail.
You should protect the outdoor sensor from direct precipitation or direct sunlight; as other-
wise the air temperature cannot be measured. Never use the outside sensor in or under water;
this will damage it!
setting time/date manuallY
If the time or date is changed, the DCF reception is switched off automatically.

Hold the "TIME" button (4) pressed for about 2 seconds until the year display flashes.

Using the "▲" (6) or "▼/24" (7) button, you can set the year.
If the respective key is pressed for a longer period of time, quick adjustment is per-
formed. This also applies to setting the month, date, hours and minutes.
If you do not press any key for 30 seconds, the projection clock saves all settings and
exits the settings mode automatically.
If you want to exit the setting mode prematurely, hold the "TIME" (4) button down for
approx. 2 seconds.

Briefly press the "TIME" (4) button and the month flashes. Using the "▲" (6) or "▼/24" (7)
button, you can set the month.

Briefly press the "TIME" (4) button and the date flashes. Using the "▲" (6) or "▼/24" (7) but-
ton, you can set the date.

Briefly press the "TIME" (4) button and the hour display flashes. Using the "▲" (6) or "▼/24"
(7) button, you can set the hour.

Briefly press the "TIME" (4) button and the minute display flashes. Using the "▲" (6) or
"▼/24" (7) button, you can set the minute.

Briefly press the "TIME" (4) button and the second display flashes. If you press the "▲" (6) or
"▼/24" (7) button briefly, the seconds are set to "00".

Briefly press the "TIME" (4) button and the language for displaying the day of the week flashes
at the top right. Set the language using the "▲" (6) or "▼/24" (7) button ("DE" = German, "GB" =
English, "FR" = French, "ES" = Spanish, "IT" = Italian).

Briefly press the "TIME" (4) button again to exit the settings mode. All settings will be saved.
Alternatively, simply wait for 30 seconds without pressing any button. The projection clock will
save all entries and exit the settings mode automatically.
start dCf searCh manuallY
Press the "RECEIVE" (13) button in the battery compartment of the projection clock. The radio
tower symbol at the right next to the seconds display flashes.
The reception attempt lasts approx. 5 minutes, do not move the projection clock during this time,
do not press any button.
If the current time of the day and the date are still not displayed after this period, choose another
location for the projection clock and perform the reception attempt again.
Do not place the projection clock next to electronic devices, metal parts, cables and so
on. Bad reception can also be expected with metallised insulating glass windows, rein-
forced concrete constructions, coated special wallpaper or in cellar rooms.
manual start of the outdoor sensor reCeption
Hold the "▼/24" (7) button down for approx. 3 seconds, till the outdoor sensor channel number
starts flashing. The search for the sensor takes several minutes. During this time, do not move the
outside sensor nor the projection clock, do not press any buttons.
switChing between temperature units °C/°f
Briefly press the button "°C/°F" (14) in the battery compartment in order to toggle between °C
(degree Celsius) and °F (degree Fahrenheit).
toggling between the 12h /24h modes

Briefly press the "▼/24" (7) button to switch between the 12 h and 24 h mode.

In the 12 h mode, the symbol "AM" appears to the left of the time during the first half of the day
and "PM" appears during the second half of the day
projeCtor funCtion

In the battery mode, the projector is activated for a few seconds on pressing the "SNOOZE/
LIGHT" (1) button briefly.
-
If the included wall plug transformer is used, the projector is activated permanently.

To turn the projection by 180°, press the button (10) on the upper side of the projection clock.
-
The projection can be sharpened via the focus adjusting wheel on the rear.
-
Swivel the projector (9) forward or backward in order to display the projection at the desired
position.
-
The projection shows the time and temperature values (indoor temperature and outdoor
temperate alternately; "OUT" is displayed additionally when the outdoor temperature is dis-
played).
night light funCtion
A night light function can be switched on or off via the sliding switch (15) in the battery compart-
ment.
The background light is activated automatically (in dimmed brightness), if a very low room bright-
ness is determined with the help of a solar cell (16).

alarm funCtion
a) select and set wake-up time 1 or 2

Press the "TIME" (4) button multiple times briefly to switch between the display of the date,
the wake-up time 1 (display "ALM1") and wake-up time 2 (display "ALM2").

After the wake-up time 1 ("ALM1") or wake-up time 2 ("ALM2") is displayed, hold the ALARM
button down for 2 seconds, so that the hours of the wake-up time starts flashing.

Set the hours for the alarm time, using the "▲" (6) or "▼/24" (7) button (keep the button
pressed longer for quick adjustment).

Briefly press the "ALARM" (5) button and the minutes display of the wake-up time flashes.
-
Set the minutes for the alarm time, using the "▲" (6) or "▼/24" (7) button (keep the button
pressed longer for quick adjustment).

Press the "ALARM" (5) button briefly. The settings mode is exited (alternatively, do not press
any button for 30 seconds).
b) turning the alarm function on/off

The date must be displayed at the bottom of the display (normal display). If necessary, press
the "TIME" (4) button multiple times till the date appears.

Briefly press the "ALARM" (5) button to switch the desired alarm function on or off. The two
alarm functions can be activated simultaneously, if necessary.
A small bell symbol appears at the top of the seconds display indicating which one of the alarm
times is activated:

c) temperature-before-alarm on/off
The temperature-before-alarm is triggered 30 minutes before the normal alarm time, if
the ambient temperature at this time is lower than -3 °C (26 °F). The temperature-be-
fore-alarm is possible only if the relevant alarm function (Alarm time 1 or 2) is activated.
You can activate or deactivate the temperature-before-alarm for each of the two alarm
times separately.

First press the "TIME" (4) button several times briefly to select Alarm time 1 (display "ALM1")
or Alarm time 2 (display "ALM2").

Briefly press the "ALARM" (5) button several times to switch between the following functions:
