radio projeCtion CloCk efp 3900
intended use
In addition to a conventional LC display, the product has an integrated projector, which can display
the time and temperature of the room ceiling, for instance.
The time and date are automatically adjusted according to the DCF time signal. However, they can
also be set manually (e.g., when there are reception problems).
An included outdoor sensor transfers the measured temperature values to the projection clock
via radio.
The power supply to the projection clock is either through an included wall plug transformer or
batteries. If the ambient brightness is adequate, the power supply is taken over by an integrated
solar cell.
Read these operating instructions completely and carefully as they contain very important infor-
mation about installation, operation and handling. Always observe the safety instructions and all
other information included in these operating instructions.
This product complies with the applicable national and European regulations. All names of compa-
nies and products are the trademarks of the respective owner. All rights reserved.

m
the warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these
safety instructions! we shall not be liable for any consequential damage.
nor do we assume any liability for material damage and personal harm caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! in such cases, the
warranty will be null and void.
-
For safety and licensing (CE) reasons, unauthorised conversion and/or modifications of the
product are not permitted. Never dismantle the product.
-
The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children. It should be operated
out of the reach of children.
-
Never look into the projector directly or with optical instruments, there is risk of injury to the
eyes!
-
The design of the wall plug transformer complies with protection class II. Only connect the wall
plug transformer to a standard wall socket connected to the public supply.
-
The projection clock and the wall plug transformer are intended to be used in dry, enclosed
indoor locations only.
-
The outdoor sensor is suitable for use in sheltered outdoor areas (e.g. under a roof overhang).
Never dip the outdoor sensor in or under water; this may destroy it.
-
If the product is brought from a cold into a warm room (e.g. during transport), condensation
may develop. This could damage the product. The mains adapter also poses the risk of a fatal
electric shock.
Wait until the product has reached room temperature before using it. This may take several
hours.
-
Do not leave the packaging materials unattended. They may become dangerous playthings for
children.
-
Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental drops, even
from a low height.
general information on batteries / reChargeable
batteries
-
Batteries/rechargeable batteries do not belong in the hands of children.
-
Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; there is a risk that they could be
swallowed by children or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
-
Leaking or damaged batteries / rechargeable batteries in contact with the skin can cause acid
burns; therefore, use suitable safety gloves.
-
Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a fire.
There is a risk of explosion!
-
Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries; risk of explosion! Only charge recharge-
able batteries that are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
-
Never mix standard batteries with rechargeable batteries, use either standard batteries or
rechargeable batteries.
-
Do not mix batteries/rechargeable batteries with different charge levels (e. g. full and half-full
batteries/rechargeable batteries).
-
Always replace the complete set of batteries/rechargeable batteries.
-
Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay
attention to plus/+ and minus/-).
-
If you wish to use rechargeable batteries please note that the operating time will decrease due
to lower output voltage (batteries = 1.5V, rechargeable batteries =1.2V). Moreover, recharge-
able batteries are more temperature-sensitive than normal ones.
Therefore, we recommend that you use high-quality alkaline batteries to ensure long-
lasting and reliable operation.
-
If the batteries in the outdoor sensor are empty, a small battery symbol appears "
ambient temperature display area. Change the batteries of the outdoor sensor. If the projec-
tion clock is unable to locate the outdoor sensor, perform a sensor search (see Chapter "Start
outdoor sensor search manually").

Select a transmission channel using the switch (B) before inserting the batteries.
The projection clock can display data from up to 3 outdoor sensors; one outdoor sensor
is included in the delivery, up to 2 sensors can be ordered as accessories.
Each outside sensor must be set to a different transmission channel.
-
Insert two batteries of type AA/Mignon with correct polarity into the battery compartment
(D) (observe positive/+ and negative/-). You will find an appropriate diagram in the battery
compartment.
The "RESET" button (C) in the battery compartment can be pressed to reset the outdoor
sensor; alternatively, remove the batteries for a few seconds from the battery compart-
ment.
-
Close the battery compartment again.
