Cleaning the Welding Unit

The ROWELD
ROFUSE Basic 48 must not be sprayed with or immersed in water.

Opening the Unit

CAUTION!
The welding device must not be opened if not by specialized staff of the company Rothenberger or staff
of a service shop who were trained and authorized by us.
2.7

Extension Cables on the Worksite

Only the use of properly approved extension cables that are labeled as such and have the following con-
ductor sections, is allowed:
up to 20 m:
1.5 mm² (2.5 mm² recommended); Type H07RN-F
over 20 m:
2.5 mm² (4.0 mm² recommended); Type H07RN-F
CAUTION! When using the extension cable, it has always to be rolled off completely and to lie fully ex-
tended.
2.8

Checking the Welding Unit for Damage

Each time before operating the welding unit, check safety features or possibly existing parts with minor
damage for proper function. Make sure that the cable connectors work properly, that contact is fully es-
tablished, and that the contact surfaces are clean. All parts have to be installed correctly and have to
properly conform to all conditions for the unit to work as intended. Damaged safety features or functional
parts should be properly repaired or replaced by an authorized service shop.

General Remark

For your own safety, use only accessories and complementary devices that are approved by the manu-
facturer and quoted in the User's Manual. Using work tools or accessories that are not quoted in the
User's Manual may put yourself in danger of bodily injury or cause the device to malfunction.

2.10 Interface Cover Lid

The protective cover lid for the interface has to be closed during welding so as to prevent humidity and
contaminations from entering the interface.

2.11 Power Supply Specs

2.11.1 Mains Power Supply
EVU wiring regulations, VDE provisions, regulations for prevention of accidents, DIN / CE regulations,
and national codes will have to be respected.
CAUTION!
When using power line manifolds on the worksite: comply with regulations for earth-leakage circuit-
breakers (FI).
Generator or mains power fuse protection should be max. 16 A (slow).

The ROWELD
ROFUSE Basic 48 has to be protected from rain and humidity.
2.11.2 Generator Power Supply
The required nominal generator capacity as determined by the consumption requirement of the largest
fitting to be welded depends on the power supply conditions, the ambient conditions, and the generator
type itself including its regulation characteristics.
Nominal output power for a generator 1 phase, 220-240 V, 50-60 Hz.
