7. Continue to cut more into the tree until the tree/
branch bends and the tension is released.
8. Cut the tree/branch from the opposite side of the
bend, after the tension is released.
To use the product in cold weather
CAUTION: Snow and cold weather can
cause operation problems. Risk of too low
engine temperature or ice on the air filter
and the carburetor.
1. If the temperature is 0˚ or colder, loosen the screws
on the front handle and remove the front handle.
2. Remove the starter housing.
3. Replace the air guide plate with the air guide plate
that is for winter use. Part number: 584 89 40-01.
4. Remove the DF air guide plate from the black air
guide plate and attach it to the blue air guide plate.

5. Remove the air filter cover.
6. Move the blue grommet from the closed position to
the open position. Use a screwdriver.
7. Make sure that the blue grommet aligns with the
snow mark.
8. If the temperature is -5˚ or colder, assemble the
winter cover on the starter.
CAUTION: If you assemble a winter kit or
winter cover, remove them before you use
the product in temperature above 0˚. This
prevents damage on the engine.
