2.5 Leads for operation and special functions
Important leads regarding temperature
• Warmed-up liquids improve the cleaning effi ciency.
• However, the effect of ultrasonic cavitation decreases at higher temperatures
Experience has shown that best cleaning results are achieved by using an aqueous solution
with a bath temperature of 50 to 60 °C.
• Ultrasonic energy also heats the cleaning agent. Continuous irradiation and/or the covering of
the oscillating tank may cause the temperature of the liquid to rise more quickly and exceed the
default setting.
• Do not heat disinfectants.
• When reaching a critical temperature, the ultrasonic power is reduced to protect the electronic
components inside the ultrasonic device. This way, the internal temperature is prevented from
further rising.
Temperature scale:
• LED of target temperature lights up permanently.
• LED of actual temperature is blinking. Above the adjusted target temperature LED is blinking
slowly (= heating is off), below the target temperature LED is blinking quickly (= heating is on).
When the actual temperature is equal to the target temperature, only the LED of the target
temperature lights up. Display accuracy: ± 2,5 °C.
• The LED „!" will blink red when temperature exceeds 80 °C.
Temperature - avoid retardation of boiling:
• After switching on the unit, the temperature pre-selection is basically adjusted to „0"(off).
• When a temperature is set, the unit will immediately try to reach the selected temperature.
When heating (without ultrasound) switched on ultrasound will be automatically switched on
once during 3 sec every minute for mixing the liquid and thus avoiding retardation of boiling.
- This function is always active with temperatures > 60 °C and cannot be deactivated!
- The function can be activated for temperatures < 60 °C. It must be activated again after each
switch-on: Activation of the function:
Press the Temperature key while at the same time switching on the unit (On/Off).
Time scale / duration:
• LED of selected time is lighting constantly, in case of continuous operation (∞) the top (green)
LED lights up.
• Ultrasound activity is indicated through LED blinking in second cycle (running light downwards).
Running light always starts at the LED for remaining time.
Time scale / DEGAS:
• For degassing (DEGAS) before cleaning, switch on the DEGAS function. If necessary, select
required duration with the key Time. Then press the key Start/Stop for at least 2 sec.
Early switch-off through re-pressing the Start/Stop-key.
During degassing, the top green LED is blinking in addition to the time lapse (
• Switch between ultrasound and degas: if the Start/Stop-key is pressed a long time with
ultrasound on, the ultrasound is fi rst turned off and then reactivated with the degas function after
about 2 sec.
