a) Inserting/changing the batteries in an outdoor sensor
• Open the battery compartment cover (A) on the back of the outdoor sensor.
• Insert two AA batteries (not included) using the correct polarity into the battery compartment
of the outdoor sensor (E) (observe plus/+ and minus/-).
• The outdoor sensor is now ready to use. Once the batteries have been inserted, the outdoor
sensor begins to transmit a radio signal. The sensor sends these at intervals of 60 seconds.
• Insert batteries into all the other outdoor sensors. Do this by repeating the work steps
indicated above.
• To replace the batteries, remove the old batteries.
• Note that when changing the batteries, the radio channel of the outdoor sensor has to be
reset. You must then reset this as described in the "Setup" section. See "b) Outdoor sensor
radio channel setup".
If the
symbol appears in the LCD display (1) of the weather station in the
corresponding display line, the batteries of the associated outdoor sensor (see the
channel number) need to be replaced.
b) Outdoor sensor radio channel setup
• Reset the radio channel before or after inserting the batteries, as an outdoor sensor should
be used for communication with the weather station. To do this, set the channel selection
switch (C) in the battery compartment of the sensor (E) to the desired channel number.
• Repeat this for all the sensors which you want to use.
• Assign number 1 to the first outdoor sensor, two to the second etc. until the maximum of eight
sensors are all transmitting on different channels. You cannot assign one channel number
twice.
Once the radio connection between the individual outdoor sensors and the
weather station is established, the channel selection is not readily reversible. You
will need to reset the weather station and the outdoor sensors by pressing the
RESET buttons (13 & D) on the weather station and the sensor. You can also initiate
the reset process by temporarily removing the batteries.
• Close the battery compartment again when channel selection is completed.
c) Inserting/changing the batteries in the weather station
• Open the battery compartment (5) on the back of the weather station.
• Insert three AA batteries (not included) using the correct polarity into the battery compartment
(observe plus/+ and minus/-).
• After inserting the batteries, all display symbols will appear briefly on the LCD display (1) and
you will hear a beep. The weather station is ready for use.
• To replace the batteries, remove the old batteries.
• Note that when changing the batteries, the radio channels have to be reset. You must then
reset these as described in the "Setup" section. See "b) Outdoor sensor radio channel setup".
• Close the battery compartment again after these steps have been completed.
If the
symbol is shown in the LCD display (1) of the weather station in the line in
which the indoor value appears, the weather station batteries need to be replaced.

In principle, it is possible to operate the product with rechargeable batteries. Due
to the lower voltage (rechargeable battery = 1.2 V, conventional battery = 1.5 V)
and lower capacity of rechargeable batteries, the battery life is shorter compared to
conventional batteries. If you wish to use rechargeable batteries, use special NiMH
batteries with a low self-discharge. For best results, we recommend that you use
high-quality alkaline batteries. Using rechargeable batteries in an outdoor sensor is
not recommended, as their performance is affected by very cold weather and they
will no longer function at full efficiency.
d) Setup and installation
• The weather station can be placed on a level, stable and sufficiently large surface using the
2 single stands (5). Unfold these outwards. A suitable mat should be used to prevent scratch
marks on the surface of valuable furniture.
To ensure optimal radio reception, the weather station should not be placed next to
other electronic devices, cables and metal objects etc. The weather station and
outdoor sensor should be set up or installed at a distance of several metres from
sources of interference. Obstacles that impair radio communication between the
two devices, such as buildings, should also be avoided. The open-air range of the
radio signal is approximately 30 m. This decreases when obstacles are present.
• The weather station and sensors can also be hung on a wall using the hanging slots (10 and B)
e.g. using hooks, nails or screws. When selecting the installation location for an outdoor
sensor, choose a weather-proof wall without direct sunlight; otherwise, distortion of
measurement values may occur. The outdoor sensor is not suitable for unrestricted use in
completely unprotected outdoor areas.
• Use the sensor or weather station as a template to mark a fine guide line on the mounting
surface along the top edge of the respective unit. To do this, position it, level, on the surface
at the desired location.
• Measure the distance from the top edge of the hanging slots (B) up to the top of the housing
and add half of the diameter of the screw used. Measure from the centre of the hole
downwards from the guide line.
• Erase the guide line.
• Depending on the surface, drill a screw hole and use suitable dowels; and screw in the
appropriate screw for each outdoor sensor.
Pay attention when drilling and tightening the screws to ensure that no cables or
concealed pipes are damaged. We recommend that you mount the outdoor sensor
to the left or right of a window so that the sensor's display can be read conveniently.
Direct precipitation on the outdoor sensor should also be avoided.
• After inserting the batteries and setting up the transmitter channels hang the outdoor sensor,
correctly closed, on this hanger.
It is recommended that you create a list of installation locations with the
corresponding sensor number. With this reference, it is more easily possible to
assign the measured values.
e) Developing a communication channel between the weather station &
sensors
Some of the controls are located behind the battery compartment cover of the
weather station or of the outdoor sensor on the battery compartment (5 and E).
Open these if you want to use them to operate the weather station or a sensor.
• Always first insert the batteries into the outdoor sensors.
• As soon as you have inserted batteries in the weather station, all display symbols will appear
briefly on the display. The weather station then starts to search on all channels for the outdoor
sensors with channel numbers 1 to 8.
• On the LCD display (1), the radio symbols

• As soon as the weather station has received a sensor signal, the radio symbol
permanently displayed together with the corresponding channel number .
• For sensors with a channel number higher than 3, press the CHANNEL + button (2), to display
the status of these sensors in numerical sequence on the bottom line of the LCD display (1).
• However, you can also press the CHANNEL + button (2) and hold for 2 seconds. You will
hear a beep and the circular arrow symbol
Now all channels, from which a signal is received, are displayed alternately and sequentially
in a 4-second rhythm.
The automatic display cycle is adjustable, but only if a signal from the outdoor
sensors with channel numbers 4 to 8 has already been received. Refer to the section
"Display and Functions", section "h) Automatic Display Cycle".
• If no values are received after 5 minutes of searching, the radio symbol
channel number is displayed without it . The attempt at receiving a signal has failed for this
sensor. For the time being, the weather station no longer searches for new sensor signals.
Do not move the weather station or outdoor sensors during the outdoor sensor
signal search and do not press any buttons.
