Safety instructions

Intended use
1. This appliance is intended for commercial and home use.
2. Only use the utensil for heating water and tea or similar liquids.
3. Do not heat up milk or foaming liquids with the appliance.
4. Do not heat up soups or sauces or similar thick foods.

5. Particular care should be taken if the appliance is used near children.
6. The appliance must not be operated by people with
impaired physical abilities,

a lack of experience and knowledge

if they are not supervised or have not been instructed how to use the appliance
by a person who is responsible for their safety.
7. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
8. The appliance should be placed beyond the reach of children.
9. Keep children away from the packaging. Dangers can include suffocation!
HAZARD FROM ELECTRICITY
10. To avoid risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury, do not use the appliance
in the open air, and do not immerse it in water or other liquids.
11. Before connecting the appliance to your power supply, you should ensure that
the voltage indicated on the rating plate matches that of your power supply.
12. Do not clean the appliance in the dishwasher.
13. We recommend that the utensil be connected to a separate electrical circuit.
14. The utensil should only be connected to a properly earthed mains power supply.
15. After use always turn the adjusting knob anticlockwise and then switch the
utensil off with the on/off switch. Then pull the plug out of the power socket.
Never pull on the cable to disconnect the utensil from the power socket. Always
pull the plug.
16. Do not allow the mains lead to hang over sharp edges or hot surfaces.
17. The cable should not come into contact with the appliance when it is hot.
18. Never attempt to repair the unit yourself, and never use it if the plug or cable is
damaged, if it is not working properly, or if there is another type of damage.
Send or take the utensil to an authorised dealer. Attempts at repair by
unauthorised persons will lead to invalidation of the guarantee entitlement.
19. Pull the mains plug out of the socket,

20. Never leave the utensil unattended while it is switched on.
21. Never place the utensil near to a source of heat or steam, or close to flammable
materials.
22. The utensil gets very hot during operation. Never touch the water tank during
operation under any circumstances.
23. Do not open the lid of the water tank when the water is boiling, to avoid
scalding.
24. Put the lid on the water tank and the teapot before the water boils.
25. Remove the teapot carefully. Hot steam will escape!
26. Only fill the utensil up to the maximum mark. Hot water may splash out if you
overfill it.
27. Pull the plug out and allow the utensil to cool before cleaning it.
WARNING of injuries from other causes
28. Do not allow the mains lead to hang over corners (trip-wire effect).
