The dispersion effectiveness is heavily dependent on the product
of the shear gradient and the time the particles spend in the shear
zone. The optimum range for the circumferential velocity of the
rotor/ stator arrangement is 6-20 m/s.
A processing time of a few minutes is usually sufficient to produce
the desired fineness. Long processing times bring only
insignificant improvements in the obtainable fineness; the energy
expended serves merely to increase the temperature of the
medium.

Drive unit

The open up a wide range of possibilities for dispersion technolo-
gy in the conventional laboratory with a respective performance
output of approximately 75 watts at 30.000 1/min.
The speed of the T 10 basic dispersion unit set by using the
differently adjusting wheel.

Assembly of clamp and stand

Overview (fig. 1 and fig. 3)
Assembly
• Clamp (5) as in fig. 1 represented over the dispersion equip-
ment push, until it engages in the position planned for it
audibly.
• Tighten the turning handle (6) by hand up to the notice.
• Screw the clamp (fig. 1) by means of cross sleeve onto the
stand.
For safe working the drive units are fastened by means of a cross
sleeve (7) to the plate stand (8). Pay attention when the assemb-
ling of the dispersion equipment at the stand to a perfect and firm
seat of the cross sleeve.

In order to increase the stability of the mechanical structure, the
drive unit must be installed as closely as possible to the stand sea-
weeds.
Disassembly
• For the disassembly of the dispersion equipment of the
clamp (5), first the turning handle (6) is to be loosened.
• Hold the dispersion equipment with a hand, with which other
hand now the dispersion equipment knows through pressures
on the locking lever (fig. 3) from the clamp is solved.

Working with the unit

Overview (fig. 1)
Check that the voltage listed on the designation plate matches the
mains voltage. Also pay attention to the ambient conditions listed
in the technical data. The socket used must be fused to 16 A.
When installing the dispersion tool the threaded part of the rotary
knob may not manage (3) into the mounting hole of the drive.
Insert the coupling of the dispersion tool in the mounting hole of
the drive unit until it audibly engages.
Following becomes the dispersion tool secured by tightening the
rotary knob (3).
The distance between the dispersion tool and the vessel bottom
should not be less than 5 mm. The filling level of the medium may
not be less than about 25 mm. Please observe also the operating
instructions of the dispersion tool.
If these conditions are met the unit is ready for service when the
mains plug has been plugged in. If this is not the case, safe ope-
ration cannot be guaranteed and the unit may be damaged.
