8. Setup

a) Inserting battery into the IR remote control, changing the battery
The IR remote control requires a CR2025 battery.
The IR remote control comes with the battery already inserted in the battery compartment. The battery is
protected from discharge with a plastic strip. Pull out the plastic strip: the IR remote control is now ready for
use.
Replace the battery if the range of the remote control drops, or if the monitor/DVR does not respond to the
remote control.
• To change the battery, unlock the locking clip on the battery compartment with a flat screwdriver, and then remove
the battery holder with the battery.
• Replace the empty battery with a new one of type "CR2025". Ensure that the battery is inserted in the correct polar-
ity (observe the plus/+ and minus/- symbols). The correct polarity is indicated on the back of the remote control and
on the battery holder.
• Insert the battery holder back into the remote control. Ensure that it is inserted in the correct polarity; do not attempt
to force it into place!
• Dispose of the empty battery in an environmentally friendly way; see also chapter "Disposal".
