10.5 Heating water connection

Material losses
!
Carry out all water connection and installation work in
accordance with regulations.
Connect the hydraulic connections with flat gaskets.
For the heating water connection, please follow the heat pump
operating and installation instructions.
10.5.1 Oxygen diffusion
Material losses
!
Avoid open vented heating systems and plastic pipes in
underfloor heating systems which are permeable to ox-
ygen.
In the case of underfloor heating systems with plastic pipes that
are permeable to oxygen or open vented heating systems, oxygen
diffusion may lead to corrosion on the steel components of the
heating system (e.g. on the indirect coil of the DHW cylinder, on
buffer cylinders, steel heating elements or steel pipes).
Material losses
!
The products of corrosion (e.g. rusty sludge) can settle in
the heating system components and can result in a lower
output or fault shutdowns due to reduced cross-sections.
10.5.2 Immersion heater accessory: Fitting the safety valve
The maximum permissible pressure must not be exceeded (see
chapter "Specification / Data table").
f Install a type-tested safety valve in the heating flow. If you
f
have fitted the compact heat pump installation WPKI-H, the
safety valve can be screwed into the connection in the upper
pipe bend (see chapter "Installation / Accessories for compact
heat pump installations / Standard delivery").
f Size the drain pipe so that water can drain off unimpeded
f
when the safety valve is fully opened.
f Fit the discharge pipe of the safety valve with a constant
f
downward slope and in a room free from the risk of frost.
f The safety valve discharge aperture must remain open to the
f
atmosphere.

11. Commissioning

11.1 Initial start-up

Note
For filling, venting and draining the system, open the
non-return valves of the compact heat pump installations.
f Turn the adjusting screws of the compact heat pump
f
installations so that the slot is aligned with the di-
rection of flow. The adjusting screw of the WPKI-H
non-return valve is located behind the thermometer.
f After filling, venting or draining the system, turn the
f
adjusting screws again through 90°.
f Fill and vent the appliance.
f
f Check that the safety valve is working.
f
Immersion heater accessory:
f Turn the temperature selector to maximum temperature.
f
f Switch the mains power ON.
f
f Check the appliance function.
f
11.1.1 Appliance handover
f Explain the function of the appliance and safety valve to
f
users and familiarise them with their operation.
f Make users aware of potential dangers, especially the risk of
f
scalding.
f Hand over these instructions.
f

11.2 Recommissioning

See chapter "Initial start-up".

12. Shutdown

f Disconnect the appliance from the mains at the MCB/fuse in
f
the fuse box.
f Drain the appliance. See chapter "Maintenance / Draining the
f
appliance".
