Switch-off
The machine is switched off when the function selector
switch (22) is turned to the TAPE position. The time
display appears. Unplug the device.
USB Connexion (4)
This device has been developed in accordance with
the latest technical developments in the USB fi eld.
Unfortunately the large number of diff erent types of
USB storage media on off er today makes it impossible to
guarantee full compatibility with all USB storage media.
For this reason there may be problems in rare cases
with playing back from USB storage media. This is not a
malCD/MP3/USB/SD of the device.
1. Turn the function selector switch (22) to the CD/
MP3/USB/SD position.
2. Keep the CD/MP3/USB/SD button (23/7) pressed
down in order to select USB mode. USb appears in
the display.
3. Connect a USB storage medium. After a few seconds
the total number of tracks appears briefl y and then
playback begins. The current song and the letters
MP3 and USB appear in the display.

NOTE:
If there is no CD in the CD compartment at the same
time, the USB connection is automatically selected.
CAUTION:
Before you remove the USB storage medium turn the
function selector switch (22) to the RADIO position.
Card slot (6)
1. If you would like to play back data on an SD/MMC
card please insert it into the opening provided.
2. Turn the function selector switch (22) to the CD/
MP3/USB/SD position.
3. Keep the CD/MP3/USB/SD button (23/7) pressed
down to select CARD mode. CARD appears in the dis-
play. After a few seconds the total number of tracks
appears and then playback begins. The current song
and
MP3 and CARD appear in the display.

CDs/MP3s".
NOTE:
• If a USB storage medium is connected it is not
possible to select the memory card.
• If there is no CD in the CD compartment at the
same time, the card slot is automatically selected.

Listening to the Radio
1. Turn the function selector switch (22) to the RADIO
position.
2. Use the band selector switch (7) to select the desired
frequency band.
VHF (Stereo) = FM ST., VHF = FM,
Medium wave = AM (Mono)
3. Tune in the desired station with the station adjust-
ment knob TUNING (5).
4. The FM.ST control lamp (30) only lights up when you
have selected FM stereo and the station is being re-
ceived in stereo quality. If reception is too weak and
there is noise on the station being received, this lamp
will fl icker. Where reception is bad we recommend
switching to FM.
5. For VHF/FM mode pull out the telescopic antenna (1)
and turn it to improve reception.
6. An aerial is integrated into the device for the recepti-
on of AM stations. The machine can be aligned to the
station by turning it. In this frequency band programs
are transmitted in „mono" only.
Cassette Operation
Playing Cassettes
1. Turn the function selector switch (22) to the TAPE
position.
2. Press the
STOP/EJ. stop/eject button (16) to
open the cassette compartment (33).
3. Insert a recorded audiocassette into the compartment
with the tape opening facing upwards and the side
you wish to listen to facing the front (full spool to the
right). Then close the cassette compartment again.
4. Press the
PLAY playback key (13) to listen to the
tape.
5. With the
STOP/EJ. stop/eject key you can stop
playback.
6. Wind the tape forwards or backwards if necessary in
the direction of the arrow keys
F.FWD = forwards (15),
7. Always press the
STOP/EJ. stop/eject key when
changing the direction or stopping the tape. This
prevents damage to the machine and the tape.
8. If the
STOP/EJ. stop/eject button is pressed
again the fl ap of the cassette compartment opens.
9. In order to interrupt playback briefl y, press the II
PAUSE pause button (17). Pressing again continues
playback.
Recording Cassettes
1. Insert an audiocassette with the side on which you
wish to record facing forwards (full reel on the right).
Ensure that the cassette is not copy-protected (the
copy protection tab on the top narrow side of the
cassette must not have been removed).
