structions. Failure to follow the
warnings and instructions may result in
electric shock, fire and/or
Save all warnings and instructions for future
reference.
- Before use check the supply and extension cord
for signs of damage or ageing. If the cord becomes
damaged during use, disconnect the cord from the
supply immediately. DO NOT TOUCH THE CORD
BEFORE DISCONNECTING THE SUPPLY. Do not
use the garden product if the cord is dam-
aged or worn.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly
qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
f When in use perform a daily, visual inspection in
order to identify any significant damage or defects
this inspection must also be competed if the tool is
dropped or subjected to any significant impacts.
- It is recommended for increased electrical safety to
use a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a tripping
current of not more than 30 mA. Always check your
RCD every time you use it.
- Always ensure tool ventilation openings are kept
free of debris.
- Observe also the safety notes and instructions in
the user manual of the power unit.
-
Check before operation, that the Multi-tool
attachment is connected correctly with the power
unit and the locking screw is securely fastened and
clamp is done up. If the connection is unsafe, the
Multi-tool attachment can detach, fall down and lead
to personal injury.
Pole pruner safety warnings
- Prolonged use of a power tool (or other machines)
exposing the operator to vibrations may produce
white finger disease (Raynaud's phenomenon) or
carpal tunnel syndrome.
These conditions reduce the hand's ability to feel
and regulate temperature, produce numbness and
burning sensations and may cause nerve and
circulation damage and tissue necrosis.
All factors which contribute to white finger disease
are not known, but cold weather, smoking and
diseases or physical conditions that affect blood
vessels and blood transport, as well as high
vibration levels and long periods of ex
development of white finger disease. In order to
reduce the risk of white finger disease and carpal
tunnel syndrome, please note the following:
– Wear gloves and keep hands warm
serious injury.
– Maintain a firm grip at all times, but do not
squeeze the handles with constant, excessive
pressure
– Take frequent breaks
All of the above mentioned precautions do not
guarantee that you will not sustain white finger
disease or carpal tunnel syndrome. Therefore,
continual and regular users should closely monitor
the conditon of their hands and fingers. If any of the
above symptoms appear, seek medical
advice immediately.
- Adjust the carrying strap to your body hight for
safe and easy handling handling.
- Add ELEM GARDEN TECHNIC biodegradable
chain saw oil until reservoir is full.
- Before operation, check the work area and
remove all possible hazards.
- ALWAYS WEAR SUITABLE CLOTHING: In
addition to required safety equipment, it is advisable
to wear suitable clothing (long sleeve shirt and
trousers) when using this tool.
- Keep all parts of the body away from the saw
chain. Do not remove cut material nor hold material
to be cut when blades are moving. Make sure the
tool is switched off and unplugged when clearing
jammed material. A moment of inattention while
operating the pole pruner may result in serious
personal injury.
- Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces
only, because the saw chain may contact hidden
wiring or its own cord. Saw chains contacting a live
wire may make exposed metal parts of the power
tool live and could give the operator an electric
shock.
- Maintain a firm grip, with thumbs and fingers
encircling the pole pruner handles, with both hands
on the pole pruner and position your body and arm
to allow you to resist kickback forces. Kickback
forces can be controlled by the operator, if proper
precautions are taken. Do not let go of the pole
pruner.
- Do not operate a pole pruner in a tree. Operation
of a pole pruner while up in a tree may result in
personal injury.
- Always keep proper footing and operate the pruner
only, when standing on fixed, secure and level
surface. Slippery or unstable surfaces such as
ladders may cause a loss of balance or control of
the pruner.
- When cutting a branch be alert for kickback.
When the branch is broached it can bend down and
jam the saw chain.
