6 Maintenance and care

6.3 Cleaning the brush roller

WARNING:
Risk of injury! Make sure that the appliance
has been switched off ("0" position) before
handling the brush base.
1. Switch off the appliance ("0" position).
2. Set the appliance down so that the brush
base is easily accessible and the appliance
rests stably in place (Fig. 15).
3. Insert a small coin into the locking screw
(Fig. 15) and turn it open.
4. Remove the brush roller from its compart-
ment and thoroughly clean it by hand from
dirt, hairs and lint.
NOTE:
If you are unable to remove all dirt by hand,
use pincers or scissors. When using these
implements, always proceed with extreme
care. Make sure that the brushes and the V-
belt are not damaged in the process.
5. Re-insert the brush roller into its compart-
ment (Fig. 15).
6. Re-insert the locking screw and lock it by
means of a small coin.
