threading the Lower thread

PLEASE nOtE!
❐ Only use the bobbins which are supplied with the device!
❐ The upper thread must already have been threaded.
❐ Use the same sizes of thread for the upper thread and lower thread!
1. Pull the cover of the bobbin compartment to the left away from the slide table.
2. Take one bobbin and unwind approx. 10 cm of the thread.
7. Now bring both thread ends together, pull them out for approx. 15 cm and guide them back
under the presser foot.
8. Slide the cover back onto the bobbin compartment.

Setting the thread tension

Test the type of stitch ideally using a piece of fabric which you later want to machine. When the
thread tension is set correctly, it is of equal strength for the upper thread and the lower thread
so that both threads cross in the middle of the fabric.

3. Place the bobbin into the bobbin compartment in such a way
that it rotates in the clockwise direction when you pull on the
thread.
4. Place the thread into the slot in the bobbin compartment.
5. Raise the presser foot lever. Take hold of the upper thread and
turn the hand wheel (anticlockwise) towards you. The needle
will dip down into the bobbin compartment and pick up the
lower thread by means of a loop when it lifts up again.
6. Once this loop has formed, pull the upper thread slightly tighter
and fetch the end of the lower thread with a needle or scissors
which you should guide under the needle and the presser foot
from right to left. The lower thread should now be pulled
through the small hole in the needle plate.
For heavy fabric, for example, a lower upper thread tension is
required. If the stitches are too tight, the upper thread tension
has been set too high. Turn the upper thread tension regulator
anticlockwise to ease the tension.
With light fabrics, a higher upper thread tension is required. If
the stitches are too loose, the upper thread tension has been
set too low. Turn the upper thread tension regulator clockwise
to increase the tension.
The lower thread tension cannot be adjusted.
