PREPARATION

1. Remove:
• Start-in-gear protection cable 1
• Bolts 2
• Flywheel cover 3
INSTALLATION
1. Install:
• Wire lead 1
• Spring washer 2
• Nut 3
• Starter motor assembly 4
• Bolts 5
Nut:
4 N • m (0.4 kgf • m, 2.9 ft • lb)
Bolt:
21 N • m (2.1 kgf • m, 15 ft • lb)
2. Remove (F6A, F6B, F8C, FT8D, F9.9F,
FT9.9G, FT9.9L):
• Plug 1
• Nuts 2
• Tiller handle assembly 3
• Screws 4 (FT8D, FT9.9G, FT9.9L)
• Battery wire harness guide 5 (FT8D,
FT9.9G, FT9.9L)
NOTE:
Install the battery wire harness and start switch
assembly with the tiller handle uninstalled.
2. Remove (F9.9J):
• Choke rod 1
• Choke knob 2
• Choke knob guide 3
• Bolt 4
• Grommet holder 5
• Grommet 6
• Screws 7
• Battery wire harness guide 8
