Safety

Please note: All safety regulations must be
complied with strictly.
Please read carefully the instructions supplied
with the appliance for installation, use and
maintenance, before using the appliance.
The appliance must be installed in accordance
with the laws and requirements of your coun-
try.
All local regulations and the regulations relating
to national and European standards must be
observed when installing the appliance.
The appliance must be placed, connected,
commissioned and inspected by an authorized
installer, in accordance with the current nati-
onal and local standards, in accordance with
regulations for closed appliances and in accor-
dance with the installation instructions of the
manufacturer.
The appliance is designed for heating pur-
poses. All surfaces, including the glass and
connecting tube, can get very hot (over 100°C)!
Make sure there is sufficient protection if
young children, disabled persons or old people
are in the vicinity of the appliance.
Safety distances from flammable materials
must be adhered to strictly.
Don't place any curtains, clothes, laundry or
other combustible materials on or near the appli-
ance. The minimum safe distance is 80 cm.
Don't use flammable or explosive substances
near the appliance when it is in use.
If the glass in the appliance is broken or
cracked, it must be replaced before you can
use the appliance again.
The appliance has been set and sealed in the
factory, in accordance with the category stated
on the model plate and at the correct nominal
load. Check that the information on the model
plate corresponds with the local gas type and
pressure, and with the nature of your instal-
lation. The model plate is behind the door at the

bottom in the appliance.
The appliance must be inspected by the instal-
ler for the air tightness of the gas supply and
flue gas duct. The operation of the control
valve, the thermocouple circuit and the ignition
of the burner must also be checked.
When the appliance is ready for use, have your
installer tell you about its use, operation and
maintenance.
Use only the log set supplied.
Place the log set exactly according to the
description.
Keep the area around the pilot flame free of
coal.
Avoid dirt in the gas pipe.
Always close the gas valve if the appliance is
not in use.
If you notice a gas smell, immediately close
the main valve, open windows and avoid fire or
the use of electrical contacts, such as swit-
ches, because of the sparks they can cause.
Always call in an expert to trace a possible gas
leak.

The appliance must be connected tightly to a well-
functioning chimney.
For the connection measurements: see the appen-
dix "Technical data".
Ask the fire brigade and/or your insurance com-
pany about any specific requirements and regu-
lations.
