EPROM 2 contains all the computation programs and the perti-
nent parameter definition files. Several computation programs
and parameter definition files can be saved. The total capacity
of EPROM 2 is 31 KBytes for programs and files.
Both EPROMs can be plugged in.
On starting the Digital Measuring Computer TZA 4 the current
computation program with relevant parameter definition file is
loaded into the RAM, using the autostart list.
Start or restart is carried out with the switch RES or after power-
ON.
If there is a mains failure, the program is interrupted. Important
data is preserved for approx. 2 hours by means of a capacitor.
On the front of the unit are situated 3 LEDs for the operating
states
– Operation (green)
– Status indicator (command mode or run mode) (yellow)
– Fault signalling (red)
The serial interface RS-232 C (optionally RS-422) is provided
for connection of a PC.
The following functions can be performed by virtue of the con-
figuration program TZAKON:
– Readout programs and files which have been loaded in the
TZA 4.
– Select the current file
– Load new parameter file with relevant program (from a dis-
kette) into the Measuring Computer TZA 4
– Test run via PC
– Open file for standard program e.g. flow rate calculation with
state correction
– Compile individual BASIC programs

4 Construction
4.1 Designs
The 19"plug-in card with front panel and a32-pole blade con-
nector, degree of protection IP 00, is inserted into the space
provided in the subrack for this purpose and fastened there.

In the surface-mounting case IP20, the19" plug-in card (with
blade connector D or F) is fitted in the plastic case and secured
to the front panel with two screws.
Due to the limited number of external terminals, only 8 modules
inputs/outputs are possible in the version with the expansion
module.
