8. Ask an assistant to check the fit of the
full face mask. The
elements (1) must be
otherwise adjust the hairnet in the
protective headgear.
9. Press the button (2) and insert the lung
demand valve into the connector.
10. Release the button and check if the
lung demand valve has snapped into
place.
11. Seal the tailpiece with your thumb (3)
and inhale until a negative pressure is
created. Hold your breath for a
moment.
The negative pressure should be
retained. No air may enter the full face
mask from the outside. Repeat the leak
test twice.
12. Seal the tailpiece (3) and exhale vigorously. The exhaled air must
be able to escape through the exhalation valve without obstruction.
If not, visually inspect the exhalation valve (see Chapter 4.3.3 on
Page 17).
13. Connect the overpressure self-contained breathing apparatus or
overpressure airline equipment.
14. Check the proper fit by turning and pulling the lung demand valve
vigorously.
Have a second person check the tightness and correct connection.

Only respond to an incident with a sealed mask/helmet
combination!
The full face mask may leak if a lamp holder is mounted on the
helmet and you push against an obstacle. Leaks reduce the
operation time and can lead to contaminants getting in the
device.
In this case, immediately exit the danger zone.

During use

3.4.1 Low temperatures
Protect the inside of the visor against fogging with "klar-pilot" gel.
3.4.2 High temperatures/alternating thermal stress
WARNING

If bubbles appear in the visor, it is a sign that the visor is
becoming soft. In this case leave the danger zone
immediately, as the full face mask can begin to leak.
3.4.3 Chemicals
Some substances can be absorbed by the material of the full face
mask or may even diffuse through it. Further information can be
obtained from Dräger .
