The air that is to be heated
- natural convection
Room temperature enters from the side inlets (n 13 - fig.1 on page 13) located on the base of the shell. It warms up and moves along the
hollow and comes out hot from the outlets on the cover of the shell itself.
In this mode, the covers of the air inlets on the shell must be removed (n 13 - fig.1 on page 13) and equivalent air passages must be provi-
ded for on the coverings in such a way that the air to be heated have easy access to the said inlets.
- forced ventilation
forced hot air circulation is obtained by means of application of a special kit (fig.9)
this kit is composed of a metal box (60), complete with:
- 800 m³/h fan (63)
- regulator (64)
- sensor (65)
- fitting (61) connecting to the external air inlet with smoke damper and wired control (4)
- two-way fitting (62) for conveying external air to the shell
the air box is positioned next to the fireplace, either on the right or left side.
Detailed information for forced ventilation kit installation is contained in its packaging.

THE TECHNOLOGY

Air for combustion

The FLAT fireplaces can only be installed in places where there is a sufficient supply of air for
combustion. For the fireplace to function properly it is fundamental that the air for combustion
reaches the hearth through a tube that goes to the appropriate inlets provided on the sides and
behind the fireplace. The fitting (A) with a diameter of 12.5 cm is supplied and this is to be
applied to the inlet that is to be used (fig. 6).
The external connection must maintain a cross-section of at least 125 cm² throughout its path.
The outlets that are not used to connect the flexible tube for the combustion air path must
remain closed with a cover.
If the air volume is not sufficient and the type of premises in which the fireplace is installed is
fig.6
not sufficiently ventilated, an additional air inlet of 120 cm² (ø 12.5 cm) is required.
Throttle valve
The air for combustion flows to the hearth regulated by a throttle valve.
The throttle valve is supplied as an accessory together with a flexible tube and fastening clips.
fig.7
The compact fireplace cannot be started-up if the throttle valve is not mounted and set solidly in
place.
Mount the lever that regulates the air for combustion in the most suitable position below the edge.
Adjusting the throttle valve
fig.8
The "on" position / max. calorific power (fig. 7):
the air valve adjustment lever is pulled out completely. The fireplace is lit up when cold and at
maximum power output.
The "maintenance" position (fig. 8):
the valve adjustment lever is entered completely. All air inlets are closed.
