Using the hob

2.4.1

Key lock function

Hold down the key lock button (see para 2.3 "Control panel") to switch on or off the key lock function (a
buzzer sounds). If the LED associated with the key lock button is lit, the keypad is locked.
If the hob is on, the key lock function locks all the buttons except for the on/off button (see para 2.3 "Control
panel") and the key lock button.
If the hob is off, the key lock function locks all the buttons, including the on/off button, except for the key
lock buttons.
The lock function can be activated when the cooking areas are activated or when the hob is switched off.

2.4.1.1 Automatic key lock function

The key lock function activates automatically (a buzzer sounds):
• approximately 1 min after the appliance is switched off;
• after approximately 1 min with the appliance switched on, plates at heating level "0" and the timer set.
2.4.2

Switching on/off the appliance

Press the key lock button to release the keypad (see para 2.3 "Control panel") (a buzzer sounds).
Press the on/off button to switch on the appliance (see para 2.3 "Control panel") (a buzzer sounds).
The plates remain off (all numbers at 0) until a heating level is selected. When all the plates are at heating level
0 and no selection is made within 10 seconds, the appliance switches off automatically.
The appliance can be switched off regardless of the hob operating mode by pressing the on/off button.
When the hob is switched off, a buzzer sounds and the displays switch off (unless an "H" appears warning of
residual heat (see para 2.4.4 "Residual heat").
2.4.3

Selecting a heating level for a certain plate

After switching on the appliance, select the required cooking area. Press the (+) button once (see para 2.3
"Control panel"). The relative plate switches on at level 1.
The (+) button increases the heating level to a maximum of 9, while the (-) button (see para 2.3 "Control
panel") reduces the heating level to 0 (plate off).
Press (+) and (-) together to switch off the relative plate. The display shows heating level 0.
With the plate at level 0, the (-) button increases the heating level to 9.
Holding down the (+) or (-) button the operation is repeated twice a second.
