Cooking area and choice of pans

The cooking areas are identified with permanent rings on the glass (A, B and C fig. 1 page 46). Electric heaters
are located under these rings on the glass. A dual electric heater is located in the area with 2 concentric
rings. In this area, either just the central part can be switched on (C fig. 1 page 46) or the entire plate (B+C
fig. 1 page 46).
Only use pans with perfectly flat and smooth bottoms. Do not use pans in cast iron or with rough bottoms
as they may scratch the surface of the cooking area.
Before cooking, make sure the bottom of the pan and the surface of the appliance are clean and dry.
The bottom of the pans must be more or less the same diameter as the cooking area to be used. This achieves
maximum heating efficiency without wasting energy.
Pans larger than the cooking area can be used provided their bottoms are always in the centre of the cooking
area. (fig. 2 page 47).
Do not use pans that exceed the external perimeter of the cooking area.
