Mode of operation

The Nordforest cable winch is a device that is exclusively suitable
for  pulling and tensioning loads. A clamping mechanism with
clamping jaws is located inside the device. The clamping jaws tension
the wire rope that is fed through and are locked and unlocked using
the T-handle.
In order to push the wire rope through the device, you must unlock
the clamping jaws by pushing the T-handle towards the "Reverse gear"
lever. In order to affix the wire rope in the clamping mechanism, you
must lock the clamping jaws by pushing the T-handle towards the rope
guide sleeve.
To ensure that the wire rope can absorb the force, you must anchor
it  tight to a tree or a fixed fitting with a round sling.
In order to obtain high pulling force on the cable winch, you must place
the lever pipe on the required lever.
If you pull a lever up an down, the clamping mechanism starts
the clamping jaw blocks inside the cable winch due to the alternating
movement.
Use the "Forward gear" lever to move the wire rope and the attached
load forwards. Use the "Reverse gear" lever to move the wire rope
and the attached load backwards.
The cable winch's traction and the permissible wire rope diameter are
specified on the type plate.
In order to protect the cable winch from overloads, a shear pin
is  installed in the "Forward gear" lever. If the cable winch is overloaded,
the shear pin breaks. The cable winch holds the load even if the shear
pin has broken, but you can no longer pull the load.
Two spare shear pins are either located in the lever pipe
(on  the  Nordforest 800 kg cable winch) or in the carrying handle
(on the Nordforest 1600 kg and 3200 kg cable winches).
You can use multiple cables in parallel for particularly heavy loads.
