Qualification of personnel

The cable winch may only be operated and maintained by people who
have been familiarised with the device and the associated hazards
by reading this manual.
People who transport, assemble, operate, use, clean and maintain
the cable winch, and rectify simple faults on it, must not be under
the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication which could impair their
reactions.
People under the age of 18 must not be employed on the cable winch.
However, it is permissible to allow people over the age of 16 to perform
such work under the supervision of a qualified person where this
is required to achieve a training objective.

General safety instructions

It is essential to follow the instructions in this manual to avoid
hazards and material damage.

Observe the relevant accident prevention regulations as well
as the other generally accepted safety, occupational health and road
traffic regulations.
›
Only use the cable winch when it is in a technically perfect condition.
›
Only use the cable winch with original accessories.
›
Never leave the cable winch unattended when it is ready
for operation.
›
Never stand on or next to the load to be pulled.
›
Never wind the wire ropes around the load.
›
Do not use any twisted or damaged wire ropes.
›
Only use wire ropes that can be lashed directly with a SIKA hook.
›
Replace the wire rope when 10 % of the original rope diameter
has been worn off.
›
Only use original wire ropes with a diameter that corresponds
to the device type.
›
Never use self-made lever pipes.
›
Never pull forcefully on the lever pipe.
