Assembly of boom and stand

Overview (Fig. 1)
The extension arm is mounted as follows:
• Insert the extension arm (2) into the flange
• Screw in cylinder bolt (1)
• Fasten cylinder bolt (1) using offset screwdriver SW4
Vibrations may loosen the hexagon nut. For your own safety check
occasionally that the boom is securely fastened. Tighten the nut if
necessary.
For safety the drive unit should be fastened to the telescopic stand R
2723 (4) or the stand R 2722 (4) using the cross sleeve R 261 (3). The
weight compensation of the telescopic stand is of considerable benefit
when raising and lowering the unit.
In order to increase the stability of the apparatus, the T 50 basic drive
unit must be mounted as close as possible to the bar of the stand.
The dispersion tool (5) is pushed all the way into the drive unit and
fastened with the hand screw (6). The distance between the dispersion
tool and the base of the vessel should not be less than 20 mm.
The whole unit may be arranged slightly off-center to avoid an
undesirable intake of air due to high rotation turbulence.

Working with the unit

Check that the voltage listed on the designation plate matches the mains
voltage. Also pay attention to the ambient conditions listed in the technical
data.
032009
Only connect the device to the mains supply with the switch in position 0.
The driving unit is switched on by means of the On/Off- switch (pos. 6).
Error rectification
If the device doesn't run with the switch in position 1, switch the device off
and back on again.
If these conditions are met the unit is ready for service when the mains plug
has been plugged in. If this is not the case, safe operation cannot be
guaranteed and the unit may be damaged.
Speed adjustment overview (Fig. 1)
Set the adjustment wheel (8) to the lowest speed before switching on the
unit. The speed can be infinitely adjusted in accordance with the require-
ments of the medium to be processed by using the adjustment wheel. The
no-load speed of the drive unit can be set to between 5,00 and 10,000
rpm.
Speed table
Note: The drive is fitted with control electronics which keep the speed con-
stant for a wide range of applications. The speed can only be reduced when
the upper limit has been reached (usually only with highly viscose media
and large dispersing elements). You will need to connect a speed gauge
(see "Accessories") if an exact speed setting and monitoring are required.

The speed table was calculated on the basis of a dispersion volume of 30 l
water using the shaft S 50 N - G 45 M. The speeds depend on the disper-
sing element used as well as the viscosity and quantity of the medium. It
may, therefore, change over the course of a dispersing process if the vis-
cosity of the liquid changes.
