Lay the mains cable in such a way that it does not become squashed or bent and
does not come into contact with hot surfaces (also applies to the hot surfaces of the
device!).
Do not remove any food from the device while it is still in operation.
Do not stick any metal objects (e. g. knives, tools etc.) into the toasting slots, because
this could cause an electric shock / short circuit.
Warning of Fire
Do not use the device in rooms containing easily ignitable dust or poisonous and
explosive fumes.
Do not connect the device along with other consumers (with a high wattage) to a mul-
tiple socket in order to prevent overloading and a possible short circuit (fi re).
Do not operate the device in the vicinity of combustible material. Do not place any
combustible materials (e. g. cardboard, paper, wood or plastic) into the toasting slots.
Only toast unpackaged bread / pastry products.
Do not cover the toasting slots, either with bread rolls or bread slices, or with other
objects such as cutlery.
Only use the device with the crumb tray inserted and empty the tray regularly.
Only toast bread and pastry goods without a spread or topping of butter, sugar or
other foodstuffs.
Do not toast pastry products which could melt. The device could be damaged by food
which has melted or catch fi re!
Only use suitable bread / pastry products. Do not toast any extremely dry baked
goods such as crispbread as they can easily catch fi re.
If bread or parts of the device catch fi re, do not try to extinguish them with water under
any circumstances. Remove the mains plug from the plug socket and smother the
fl ames with a fi re blanket or a suitable fi re extinguisher.
Risk of Damage to Material and Property
Always set up the device with a clear space on all sides (at least 20 cm) and clear
space above it (at least 30 cm) on a dry, fl at, solid and heat-resistant surface.
Do not place the device below kitchen wall units or similar cupboards. The rising
steam could cause damage to them!
The device should only be used if it has been correctly assembled! Before each use,
check whether the permanent fi lter holder and the permanent fi lter are inserted cor-
rectly and whether the water tank is fi lled correctly!
Never exceed the maximum fi ll level (note the MAX marking in the water tank!) to
prevent subsequent overfl owing of the cup!
Never use the coffee machine without water in the water tank.
Do not pour milk or other liquids into the water tank. Only ever use water to make
coffee!
Never overfi ll the permanent fi lter.
Never use the coffee machine without a suitable vessel placed below the coffee
outlet.
