12. The power cord storage compartment is on the bottom of the base. It is used
for storing the power cord or to effectively shorten the length of the cord.
Boiling water can cause scalding. Therefore, please handle the appliance
with care when it contains hot water. The appliance becomes very hot during
operation and maintains the heat during some time after disconnection.

CLEANING AND CARE

1.
Do not immerse the base, power cord or kettle in water or other liquids or
wash them in the dishwasher.
2.
Wipe off the base and the kettle with a damp cloth and a little dishwashing
detergent. Do not use any abrasive scouring agents, steel wool, metal objects,
hot cleaning agents or disinfectants, since they can damage the appliance.
3.
The appliance must be completely dry on the outside before you use it
again.

DESCALING

1.
To keep the appliance operating efficiently and to prolong its service life,
it should be descaled regularly, depending on the hardness of your water.
2.
The lime scale filter has to be cleaned regularly. Please empty the kettle
completely and allow it to cool off. Carefully remove the filter from the pour
spout. Clean the filter carefully with a soft brush under running water. You
can also place the filter in a bowl with a descaling solution. Then rinse the
filter with clear water and insert it in the pour spout.
3.
Use off-the-shelf descaling products for electronic kettles and comply with
the manufacturer's instructions. To descale, fill the kettle half full, maxi-
mum, otherwise the liquid can boil over and can cause severe injuries.
4.
Heat the liquid (do not boil!) and allow it to sit for some time in the elec-
tronic kettle.
5.
Pour the descaling solution out of the kettle.
6.
Then fill it with fresh water and bring to a boil. Pour this water out as well.
Then rinse out the kettle at least twice with clean water.
Before cleaning, always turn off the appliance and unplug it from
the electrical outlet.
Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning it.
