A HARDWARE TOUR
1 SCSI ID switch
Used to specify the SCSI ID to be assigned to the DVD-D304 drive. When the drive
is to be used on the same SCSI bus as other devices (i.e., when the drive is to be
daisy-chained to other devices), different IDs must be assigned to all devices on the
same SCSI bus. Factory default setting is "0".
2 SCSI ports
3 This switch is used to check the device before shipment, and its setting should
never be changed. (Factory default is set to OFF.)
4 SCSI mode selection switch
OFF:SCSI-2 mode; burst transmission rate: 10 MByte/sec
ON: SCSI-3 mode; burst transmission rate: 20 MByte/sec
This switch is set off (SCSI-2 mode) at the time of shipment from the factory.
NOTE:
Ordinarily, we recommend using this unit with this switch left off (SCSI-2 mode).
If this switch is set on (SCSI-3 mode), the unit could malfunction, depending on the
connecting cables, usage environment, etc.
5 SCSI terminator switch
When components are connected through the SCSI connection, the terminator should
be attached to the last component in the connection. In case this drive is the last
component, set this switch to the on position. Factory default is set to OFF.
6 Data block size switch
Used to specify the data block size. Set either to 512 bytes (OFF) or 2048 bytes
(ON). Factory default is set to ON.
