Phase 1
During Phase 1, the one bean symbol
3 Empty the drip tray and then reinsert it.
→ The symbol for the water tank
4 Lift the lid of the water tank (Fig. A, no. 6) and pull the water tank up
and out of the appliance and then empty it completely.
5 Add the descaling agent (e.g. Melitta
liquid descaling agent) to the water tank according to the instructions on
the packaging.
Warning!
The descaling agent can cause skin irritations
Comply with the safety instructions and the dosing information specified on the
descaling agent packaging.
6 Reinsert the water tank.
7 Press the button for coffee strength
descaling programme.
→ The integrated descaling programme is started. Water flows inside
the appliance into the drip tray in multiple intervals. This stage lasts
approximately 15 minutes. Subsequently, the symbol for the drip tray
illuminates.
→ Phase 1 is completed.
Phase 2
During Phase 2, two bean symbols
8 Empty the drip tray and then reinsert it.
→ The symbol for the water tank
9 Thoroughly rinse the water tank, fill it to the max. mark with fresh tap
water and reinsert it.
10 Press the button for coffee strength
