Cleaning, disinfecting and drying
Use only approved cleaning agents and disinfectants!
Cleaning: Clean the full face mask after every use. Do not use solvents,
such as acetone, alcohol, etc. to clean the mask. Clean the full face mask
with lukewarm water containing the all-purpose cleaner Sekusept
1)
Cleaner
and with a cloth. Rinse thoroughly under running water.
Disinfecting: Disinfect the full face mask after every use. Immerse the
mask in the disinfectant. Use disinfecting agent Incidur
Concentration: 2 %, exposure time: 15 min.
High doses and long exposure times can damage the full face mask. Rinse
thoroughly under running water.
Machine cleaning and disinfection: with Eltra
Drying: Shake the mask to remove the water. Let mask dry in a drying closet
or in air until there is no residual moisture left.

Maximum temperature: +60
C. Keep away from direct sunlight.
Testing
Check the full face mask after every use or after every upkeep and repair,
respectively.
Test device and accessories: Testor R 53 400, adapter R 53 345, exhala-
tion valve plug R 53 346.
Visual inspection of the speech diaphragm: Speech diaphragm and O-
ring must be clean and undamaged; clean or replace if necessary.
Visual inspection of the inhalation valve: Check the inhalation valves of
the two connections by blowing in; check whether the valve disks can move
freely. Replace if clotted.
Visual inspection of exhalation valve:
Remove the exhalation valve cover from the
facepiece connector. Press one arm inwards
and remove the spring carrier. Grab the valve
disk at the fitting and pull it out of the duct.
The valve disk and seat must be clean and
undamaged. Clean or replace if necessary.
Moisten valve disk with water and refit. In horizontal position, the valve disk
must slide into the guide by means of its own weight. Insert the spring car-
rier so that both arms lock into place at the side. It is marked with "L" = left
and "R" = right and is positioned forming an angle.
Carry out leak test: Observe the instructions for use of the test device.
Moisten the inside of the sealing frame with water and mount the full face
mask on the test head, see "Fasten full face mask". Inflate the test head
until the sealing frame fits tightly in all places. Seal the facepiece connec-
tors with adapters. Produce a vacuum of 10 mbar. The full face mask is
deemed to be tight if the pressure changes by no more than 1 mbar after
1 minute, otherwise
Test with sealed exhalation valve: Remove the exhalation valve.
Insert exhalation valve plug and fasten with spring carrier. Produce a nega-
tive pressure of 10 mbar. If the pressure change after 1 minute is less than
1 mbar, remove the exhalation valve plug, insert a new valve disk and repeat
the leak test. Otherwise
Leak test under water: Immerse the test head with the full face mask in
water. Produce a positive pressure of approx. 10 mbar and slowly rotate the
test head under the water surface. Any leaks are revealed by air bubbles
emerging from the test head. Remove the test head and full face mask from
the water, seal the leaks, remove the exhalation valve plug and mount the
exhalation valve. Repeat the leak test.
Check the opening pressure of the exhalation valve: If using the Quaes-
tor R 54 300 test device, the opening pressure must be at least 4.2 mbar
at a constant flow of 10 litres/minute through the full face mask. Other-
wise, replace the spring and repeat the test. If using a test device that does
not allow a constant flow, e. g. Testor or Rz 25, the opening pressure has
to be at least 4.5 mbar.
After the test: Press the button and disconnect the adapter of the plug
connection, unscrew the adapter of the round thread connection. Remove
the full face mask from test head and dry if necessary. Replace exhalation
valve cover so that it engages.
Special maintenance work
Replace the lens: Grip the hexagonal nuts and unscrew two clamping
screws. Prise the lens frame apart with a screwdriver at the connecting
points, then pull it off to the top and bottom. Remove the support if neces-
sary. Detach the old lens from its rubber frame and insert a new lens, first
in the upper half and then in the lower half of the rubber frame. The centre
marks on the lens should be aligned with the seam on the mask body. Draw
the rubber frame over the edge of the lens on the right and left. Moisten the
outside of the rubber frame and the inside of the lens frame with soap
water. Prise apart first the upper, then the lower lens frame. Fit the support
if necessary. Screw the clamping screws into the hexagonal nuts and
tighten until the gap between the clamp lobes is between 3 and 0.5 mm.
1 Note the corresponding instructions for use.
Replace the facepiece connector: Draw the nose cup out of the groove in
the threaded ring. Use a screw driver to pry open the connector clamp.
Remove the connector clamp as well as the parts located below (slide ring
and support). Draw the facepiece connector out of the mask body. Insert
the speech diaphragm and exhalation valve and inhalation valve disk into
the new facepiece connector and fit the connector so that the centre marks
of the facepiece connector and mask body line up. Mount slide ring and
new connector clamp. Attach the hook to ensure the tightest possible fit of

the connector clamp. Push the support between connector clamp and
slide ring, then attach it to the lower lens frame and align. Compress the
nose on the connector clamp with pliers R 53 239 until the facepiece con-
nector is securely located in the full face mask. Attach inner mask.
1)
Replace the valve disks for the nose cup valves: Pull out the old valve
disks towards the inside. Insert the stud of the new disc into the hole from
inside, and pull it towards the lens until the undercut of the stud is visible.
The valve discs should make even contact with the inside surface.
Replace the speech diaphragm and O-ring: Draw the nose cup out of the
groove in the threaded ring. Unscrew the screw ring with socket wrench R
26 817. Turn the socket wrench over and carefully insert it in the holes of
the grille, taking care not to damage the foil on the diaphragm. Turn the
speech diaphragm to release it and remove it. Remove the O-ring from the
connector with sealing ring lifter R 21 519. Test the speech diaphragm and
O-ring and replace if necessary. To observe during assembly: Button the
edge of the nose cup into the groove of the threaded ring; it should fully
grasp the threaded ring. The centre marks on the facepiece connector
piece and on the nose cup must align.
Replace the exhalation valve disk: see "Visual inspection of exhalation
valve".
Replace the inhalation valve disk of the plug connection: Draw the face-
L
R
piece connector out of the mask body, see "Replacing the facepiece con-
nector". Remove the old valve disk of the plug connection and fit the new
disk.
Replace the inhalation valve disk of the round thread connection:
Remove the inhalation valve disk from the inside and fit the new disk.
Only authentic Dräger spare parts may be used. Repeat leak test after
maintenance work and/or after replacing components.
Storage
Undo the head strap as far as possible (tab). Wipe lens with antistatic
cloth. Store the full face mask dry and free of dust without risk of deforma-
tion in the associated bag or mask box.
Storage temperature: -15
Keep out of direct sunlight and heat.
Observe ISO 2230 and national regulations for the storage, maintenance
and cleaning of rubber products.
