Use
Keep the full face mask ready: Undo the head strap as far as possible.
Pass the carrying strap around your neck and button it into the front strap.
Fasten full face mask: Facial hair under the
mask seal can cause leaks! The full face mask
should not be used by people with beards and
sideburns. The bow of glasses under the
mask seal also causes leaks. A spectacle
frame should be used in such cases. Unbut-
ton the carrying strap. Place chin in recess.
Pull the head strap kit over the head and draw
backwards until the headband fits smoothly.
Adjust the full face mask.
1 Stretch the neckbands evenly.
2 Stretch the temple straps evenly.
3 In case of small head shape, also stretch the
headband.
4 Remove the filter plug. Screw the breathing
filter provided for use into the round thread
connection (as the breathing filter will only be used for a short period of
time, choose its capacity accordingly). Prior to use, read the instructions
for use of the compressed air hose breathing apparatus. If, during the use
of compressed air hose breathing apparatus, uncoupling is required
(change of work place), the breathable air is temporarily supplied via the
breathing filter. (In this case, the breathing resistance required according
to EN 148-1 is perhaps not reached.) Prerequisite for this is the breatha-
ble air supply hose to be uncoupled at the distributor piece (basic set)
and the check valve to be flush in the distributor piece (basic set). Sepa-
ration of the lung demand valve (LDV) from the full face mask is not
allowed.
Carry out leak test: Press the button and insert the lung demand valve
into the facepiece connector. Release the button and check whether the
lung demand valve has locked into place. Close the plug-in nipple at the
medium pressure hose with your thumb. Seal the filter opening with the
heel of your hand. Breathe in until a negative pressure is produced. Briefly
hold your breath: the vacuum must be maintained. If it is not, the straps
must be tightened further. The leak test must be repeated twice. Report to
operation only with an airtight full face mask!
Check the exhalation valve: Seal the plug-in nipple and exhale vigour-
ously. The exhaled air must escape easily, otherwise see "Visual inspection
of exhalation valve".
Connect the positive pressure fresh air hose breathing apparatus
Extreme operating conditions
In case of low temperatures: Treat lens with antimisting agent "klar-pilot"
gel to prevent it from fogging up.
In case of high temperatures: Leave the danger zone immediately if lens
is damaged.
In case of chemicals: Some substances, e.g. H
absorbed by the material of the full face mask, especially silicon, and may
possibly diffuse into it.
In explosion-hazard area: Treat the full face mask with antistatic spray or
work with a screen of water mist.
After use
Disconnect the lung demand valve: Press the button and simultaneously
pull the lung demand valve out of the facepiece connector.
Remove full face mask: Slide your index fin-
ger under the ends of the neckbands, press
the clamps forwards with your thumbs and
simultaneously pull the full face mask away
from the face over the head.
