To avoid these phenomena, the network water must be treated to respect the following
parameters:
• PH: from 8.2 to 9.5,
• Oxygen scavenger: excess.
The chemicals used must be applied precisely and carefully. We recommend directing any
water treatment questions to specialists, which can provide:
• The appropriate treatment based on the characteristics of the unit,
• A monitoring agreement with a guarantee as to the results.
4.2. Boiler room renovation
If old boiler rooms are to be renovated, before any new elements are added to the installation,
the installation must be flushed out fully to remove any suspended particles.
This operation alone may not be enough, especially in very old installations equipped
with under-floor heating.
A complete silt removal operation may then be necessary.
As for the water treatment, this operation must be carried out by a specialist company, which
is the only type of company able to define, recommend and use the treatment products
according to a prior analysis of the network parameters and the risk of leaks in the distribution
network.
Before carrying out the hydraulic connection, the supply pipes must be cleaned fully to avoid
adding any metal or other particles to the tank.

5. START-UP

• Make sure that all the tapping is connected and/or plugged (including the low point drainage).
• Fill up the appliance
• Check the water pressure on the manometer. If iced water is used, the standard pressure
will be 1 bar in the tank.
• Make sure that the primary tank has been bled.
• Check the seals on the primary tank's connectors.
• The thermometer must be installed in the tapping located on the front (see page 20).
For any interventions on artificial siliceous mineral fibre components (ceramic fibres,
glass wool, rock wool), the operator must wear suitable clothing and a breathing
protection mask to avoid any risks specific to these products.
