Shut down the water heater by pressing the
"ON/OFF" button.

Close the fuel gas valve (A).

Unplug the power cord (C). Use dry hands.
Exercise caution and only unplug by grasping
the plug head and pulling. Note that all factory
settings will be restored next time unit is re-
powered.

Close the water inlet valve (B).

Open all hot water faucets.

Obtain an appropriate container to
collect the residual water from the system.
WARNING

Open the drain plugs and completely drain the water heater. It is recommended to blow compressed air
into the water inlet to drain any excess water remaining in the heat exchanger piping. All residual water will
drain via the water outlet.
NOTE: Freezing temperatures below 32° F (0° C) can cause permanent damage to the heater and/or the
piping system.
FREEZING DAMAGE IS NOT COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY.

Reinstall the drain plugs and close the hot water faucets.

To return the unit to operation, please refer to "Routine Start Up" in section "Operating Instructions" of
this manual.
