Installation and Operating Instructions
NOTE
Decentralised ventilation unit – KWL EC 70 / ET
When multiple sensors are active, the ventilation operates according to the highest ventilation demand (fan signal):
Value
Relative humidity internal [%]
KWL 70 CO2-I internal [ppm]
KWL 70 VOC-I internal, index
points [VOC]
External sensors [V]

Humidity Stop Function
When the high level is activated by the internal humidity sensor, a timer (duration 2 hrs) starts.
• When the timer expires, the unit switches to the lowest level. If no minimum ventilation level is set, the unit switches
off.
• Each time the high level is exited due to the sensor signal, the timer is reset to zero.
• The stop function duration (stop time, 0, 1, 2, 4, 8, 24 hrs) can be set via the GUI.
• The humidity stop function is completely reset as soon as a non-sensor-controlled operating mode is selected.
• If the internal humidity sensor is deactivated, there is no stop function.
• The humidity stop function can be overridden for an adjustable period (adjustable ventilation stage time) using button
➋ (see Fig. 29).
64
Party Mode
Pressing button ➋ (see Fig. 29) for more than 2 seconds activates the rapid ventilation mode (Level 5) and keeps it
active for the time defined in the GUI (15–180 minutes).
A return to the previous operation is possible at any time by pressing a button. The current operating mode remains
unchanged.
65
Sleep Function
Pressing button ➍ (see Fig. 29) for more than 2 seconds activates the sleep function. The unit remains in standby mode
for the time defined in the GUI (15–180 minutes). A return to the previous operation is possible at any time by pressing
a button.
66
External Switch Contact
When the external switch contact is closed, and during the subsequent overrun period (0–180 minutes), the previous
operation is overridden. The operating mode, including ventilation level or sensor-controlled operation, as well as device
standby, can each be set with an adjustable overrun period. The overrun period begins when the external switch con-
tact opens. After the overrun period expires, the ventilation unit returns to its previous operation. If the external contact
is closed and then reopened during active party mode, the party mode resumes for the remaining time after the overrun
period ends. The sleep function can also be activated when the external contact is closed. Party mode cannot be acti-
vated while the external contact is closed.
67
GUI "Helios"
Connection to a PC is via USB-C. The GUI can be used for KWL EC 45 and KWL EC 70 units. When a unit is connec-
ted, the device type (KWL EC 45, KWL EC 70) is automatically recognised, and the user interface display is adjusted
accordingly.
68
Frost Protection
Icing of the heat exchanger at low outdoor temperatures is prevented by reducing the supply air volume flow and by
cyclically switching off the supply air fan.
During active frost protection, the ventilation level and operating mode cannot be changed
69
Filter Indicator
Filter replacement is indicated on the control panel by flashing LEDs for all ventilation levels.
The interval duration between two filter notifications can be set (3, 6, 9, 12 months).
The filter interval is reset on the control panel by pressing buttons ➋ and ➍ simultaneously (see Fig. 29).
610 Error Messages
6101 Frost Protection
When the ventilation unit is in heat recovery frost protection mode, it is not possible to adjust the ventilation level or
change the operating mode. The timer functions party mode and sleep mode are unavailable during active frost protec-
tion. The external switch contact also has no effect on the operating mode or ventilation level during frost protection. An
LED code is displayed simultaneously.
