10. Commissioning and functional test

The gate system must be tested for proper function after all of the electrical connections have been establis-
hed and the supply voltage has been turned on. To do this, activate each of the safety contact edges one after
another and check the corresponding reactions of the switching unit.
Following successful commissioning, safety outputs are active. Actuation of a safety contact edge causes the
respective safety output to switch to the inactive state.
The safety system must be professionally inspected at appropriate intervals. The inspection must
be documented in such a way as to be comprehensible at all times. The requirements of the plant/
machine manufacturer are to be taken into account and followed.

11. Error diagnosis

V1.0: If the supply voltage is both wired and applied correctly, the green LED must switch off cyclically only
briefly.
V4.0 and later: Only the green LED may illuminate if the supply voltage has been correctly connected.
If the yellow or red LED illuminates, there is an error in the system which can be pinpointed with the aid of
the LED.
If the FAULT CLOSING LED or FAULT OPENING LED illuminates, there is an error in the system.
Green LED flashes
Internal error is indicated by the number of pulses. According to the error
cyclically
indicator, switch off the output, switch off the device or check the supply voltage.
Led FAULT CLOSING
Actuation or error in the travelling safety contact edge for the closing movement
Led FAULT OPENING Actuation or error in the travelling safety contact edge for the opening movement
If such an error is signalled, the connections of the individual system
components (electronics, cores) should be inspected. If the error is not
at the connections, the function of the electronics can be tested by
connecting an 8.2 kΩ resistor to each safety contact edge input on the
coil core. If the electronics work perfectly after performing the test, the
safety contact edges must be checked using an ohm meter. To do this,
the respective connection on the safety contact edge for the travelling
coil core must be disconnected and connected to an ohm meter. The
resistance must be 8.2 kΩ ± 500 Ω when the safety contact edge is
inactive and must not exceed 500 Ω when it is active.
The most frequent causes of these errors are bad coil core connections
and incorrectly installed cable system components. The maximum
resistance value of the cable loop must not exceed 3 Ω. The resistance
value can be measured by disconnecting the steel cable from the gate
leaf and then measuring the resistance between the end of the steel
cable and gate leaf.
