About speaker output
The default setting is [Auto] ("AUTO").
Surround setting Effect
[Auto] The system outputs the sound with suitable effect automatically depending on the source.
"AUTO"
• 2 channel source: Outputs 2 channel sound as it is.
• Multi-channel source: Simulates 7.1 or 5.1 surround sound with two front speakers and a
subwoofer.
[2ch Stereo] The system outputs 2 channel sound regardless of sound format or number of channels.
"2CH ST."
Multi-channel surround formats are downmixed to 2 channels.
• Depending on the input stream, the surround settings may not be effective.
• When you play a Super Audio CD, surround settings are not activated.
• You can also select the surround setting in [Surround Setting] of [Audio Settings] (page 60).
