WARNING
specified for the battery. For spe-
cific charging instructions, read the operator's
manual supplied with your charger and battery.
Removing/Inserting the Battery
To remove the battery, push in the release buttons and
pull the battery pack away from the Trapsnake™ driver.
Always remove battery pack before
WARNING
changing or removing accessories.
To insert the battery, slide the pack into the body of
the Trapsnake™ driver. Make sure it latches securely
into place.
Fuel Gauge
To determine the amount of charge left in the battery,
pull the Trapsnake™ driver trigger. The fuel gauge
will light up for 2-3 seconds.
To signal the end of charge, 1 light on the fuel gauge
will flash for 2-3 seconds.
Installing the Auger Handle/
Trapsnake™ Driver
Always remove the battery before inserting or remov-
ing the Trapsnake™ driver.
1. To install the auger handle or Trapsnake™ driver,
press the auger connection into the auger socket
until the auger collar snaps back and the auger
connection is locked into place.
2. To remove the auger handle or Trapsnake™ driver,
pull out the auger collar, then pull out the auger
connection.

Only use accessories specifically recommended
for this tool. Others may be hazardous.
To reduce the risk of injury, wear safety goggles
or glasses with side shields. Always wear leather
gloves.
Operating the Trapsnake™ Driver
Using the forward/reverse switch:
1. For forward (clockwise) rotation, push in the forward/
reverse switch from the right side of the tool ►. Check
the direction of rotation before use.
2. For reverse (counterclockwise) rotation, push in the
forward/reverse switch from the left side of the tool
◄. Check direction of rotation before use.
3. To lock the trigger, push the forward/reverse switch
to the center position. The trigger will not work while
the forward/reverse switch is in the center locked
position. Always lock the trigger or remove the bat-
tery pack before performing maintenance, changing
accessories, storing the tool and any time the tool is
not in use.
Starting, stopping and controlling speed:
The Trapsnake™ driver may be used at any speed from
0 RPM to full speed.
1. To start the Trapsnake™ driver, insert an M12™
battery and pull the trigger.
2. To vary the driving speed, increase or decrease pres-
sure on the trigger. The further the trigger is pulled,
the greater the speed.
3. To stop the tool, release the trigger.

Inserting Auger into Drain
1. Unclip the cable from the cable clip.
2. Pull the cable sleeve back so that only the cable tip
is visible at the boot.
3. Carefully insert the boot into the drain, tilting the
auger for easy entry.
WARNING! The boot must be in the drain to support
the cable from whipping. The cable can damage
porcelain.
4. If using the Trapsnake™ driver, set the forward/
reverse switch to the forward position ►. Pull the
trigger while pushing down on the driver to advance
the cable into the drain. If using the auger handle,
rotate the handle in a clockwise motion while pushing
down on the handle.
NOTE: If the cable is not advancing, set the forward/
reverse switch to the reverse position ◄, and continue
advancing the cable. Once the cable becomes unstuck,
set the forward/reverse switch back to the forward
position ►.
5. If more cable is needed, release the second half of
the cable.

Releasing the Second Half of Cable
1. Pull up the cable sleeve to the red cable lock indicator
line.
NOTE: The red line should be just below the handle cap.
2. Push down on the lower grip to lock the cable in
place .
3. Press in the cable detent ball and pull up the cable
sleeve until the ball locks into the next detent.
4. Pull the lower grip up to unlock the cable
5. Continue feeding the cable into the drain.

Removing the Blockage
1. When the clog is reached, move the tool in a back
and forth motion until the obstruction is cleared. If
the tool binds, release the trigger immediately.
NOTE: If the cable is not advancing, please see the
"Unbinding Auger Cables" section.
2. Repeat until the drain is clear.
NOTE: The toilet auger can also be used to retrieve
obstructions from the drain.
Unbinding Cables
1. If using the Trapsnake™ driver, set the forward/
reverse switch to the reverse position ◄. If using
the auger handle, rotate the handle in a counter-
clockwise motion.
2. Withdraw the tool a few inches while in reverse to
free the cable.
3. Stop the tool.
4. After the tool has come to a complete stop, switch
back to the forward position ►.
Running the tool in reverse for extended
CAUTION
periods can cause damage to the cable
and accessories.
Removing Cable from Drain
1. Set the Trapsnake™ driver forward/reverse switch
to the forward position ►.
2. Pull the trigger slightly and pull the tool back to
remove the cable from the drain. If using the auger
handle, rotate the handle in a clockwise motion while
pulling up on the handle until the cable is retracted
from the drain.
3. If the second half of the cable was released, the
additional cable must be returned.
Returning the Second Half of Cable
1. Pull the cable sleeve up as far as it will go, and push
down on the lower grip to lock the cable in place .
2. Push the detent ball in and push the cable sleeve
down until the ball locks into the next detent.
3. Pull the lower grip up to unlock the cable
continue returning the cable from the drain.

MAINTENANCE
Cable Installation
To reduce the risk of injury, wear
WARNING
safety goggles or glasses with side
shields. Always wear leather gloves. Cable tip may
be sharp.
Replace cables as needed. See chart for accessory
part numbers and compatibility.
To remove the cable:
1. Remove the auger handle or Trapsnake™ driver from
the auger.
2. Unclip the cable from the cable clip.
3. Remove the two screws from the auger handle cap.
4. Pull the cable sleeve up to the red cable lock indi-
cator line. Push down on the lower grip to lock the
cable .
5. Press the cable detent ball in and pull the cable
sleeve up until the ball locks into the next detent.
6. Pull the lower grip up to unlock the cable
Press the cable detent ball in once more and pull the
cable out from the bottom of the auger.
7. When cleaning or maintaining the cable, follow the
cleaning instructions under "Maintenance".
To install the cable:
1. Remove the auger handle or Trapsnake™ driver from
the auger.
2. Remove the two screws from the auger handle cap.
3. Pull the lower grip up to unlock the cable
4. Feed the cable into the auger through the bottom of
the tool until the cable detent section reaches through
the upper grip.
5. Push down on the lower grip to lock the cable
Line up the cable detent ball with the cable sleeve
detent. Press the cable detent ball in and push the
cable sleeve down until the ball locks into the first
detent.
6. Press the cable detent ball in once more and push
the cable sleeve down until the ball locks into the
next detent.
