4.1 Overview of the filters

The following filters are installed (Fig. 15):
1 Laminar motor protection filter
2 Foam plastic motor protection filter
3 Coarse dirt sieve
4 Exhaust filter
The filters may dirty during use and therefore
must be checked regularly after each session.
Damaged or deformed filters must be re-
placed immediately.
Remove dirt from the filters as described
below.
Keep the indicated checking and cleaning
intervals:
- Checking: Check the filters for dirt and
possible damage every time you empty
the dust container.
- Cleaning: If you find that the filter is dirty,
clean it as described below: The filters
should be cleaned at least every 3 – 6
months.
4.2 Cleaning the dual motor pro-
tection filter and the coarse dirt
sieve
1. Switch off the vacuum cleaner and empty
the dust container Zchapter 3.3, „Emptying
the dust container".
2. Keep holding the dust container over a
dustbin.
3. First, pull the laminar motor protection filter
and then the foam plastic motor protection
filter from their holder in the dust container
(Fig. 16).

4. Then twist the coarse dirt sieve clockwise

(Fig. 17/1. ¨ "OPEN") and take it out of its

receptacle (Fig. 17/2.).

5. For a rough cleaning tap the dirt out of the

filters and the coarse dirt sieve over a dust-
bin.
6. Then thoroughly rinse all 3 parts by hand
under clear, cold running water (Fig. 18/A).
7. If the filters are damaged or too dirty to be
cleaned with water replace them by new
ones (Zchapter 5.1, „Accessories/Spare
Parts").
8. Let the filters dry at least 24 hours at room
temperature (Fig. 18/B).
9. Refit the coarse dirt sieve like this:
- Position the coarse dirt sieve as shown
so that the the tab on the sieve engages
the guide as shown (Fig. 19/1.)
- Then turn the coarse dirt sieve counter-
clockwise up to the stop to fasten it
(Fig. 19/2. "CLOSE" §)
- Close the dust compartment bottom
plate.
10. Put the clean and completely dry motor pro-
tection filters back into their holder. Mind
their correct order and position (Fig. 20).
11. Put the dust container back into place. It
must catch with a click.
ATTENTION:
The filter elements are washable, but may
not be cleaned in dishwashers or washing-
machines. Do not use chemical cleansers or
brushes with hard bristles to clean the filters..
After cleaning the filters, let them dry for
approx. 24 hours at room temperature. Only
put them back into the appliance when they
are completely dry.

4.3 Cleaning the exhaust filter

1. Switch off the appliance.
2. Press the release catch of the exhaust filter
cover and fold down the cover (Fig. 15).
3. Take out the exhaust filter (Fig. 15/4).
4. Tap the dust out of the exhaust filter over a
dustbin. If such dry cleaning is not suffi-
cient, subsequently rinse the filter in clear,
cold water.
5. If the filter is damaged or deformed, replace
it
(Zchapter
5.1,
„Accessories/Spare
Parts").
6. Put the clean and dry exhaust filter back in-
to its holder.
7. Attach the exhaust filter cover at the bottom
side first and then fold it shut.
8. Check the cover for its tight fit.
