4.3 Functional details
Protection against short circuits
When a short-circuit is detected, the machine cuts the output current to avoid remaining permanently in a high-current
output state.
The output current can sometimes remain and the user should avoid short circuits between the electrode and the
workpiece as much as possible and not get too close. If there is a short circuit, it must be quickly eliminated.
2T/4T: 2T/4T are two on-off control modes for TIG torches.
You press the trigger to start and hold it down to weld. When you release the trigger,

the arc stops.
This mode allows you to release the torch trigger after the arc has started and a further
4T
pulse will stop the arc.
This is a more relaxing mode when you have a long route to complete.

: Rise time to I1: Allows the operator to position the electrode correctly before the welding current reaches full power.
UP
This reduces spatter and limits the risk of tungsten inclusion.

: Fading: filling of the crater at the end of welding.
DOWN
PULSE: Pulsed TIG welding is used to weld thin sheets. It avoids distortion and provides better control of the molten
pool, ensuring good penetration while producing less heat.
I1: The function of the pulsed peak current is to form a molten pool and melt the welding rod. The current setting must
therefore not be too low, otherwise it cannot form a molten pool.
I2: The role of the low pulse current is to keep the arc lit while reducing the temperature of the arc and therefore of the
molten pool. The low current is set as a percentage of the pulse peak; if it is too low, the arc may be unstable.
PRE-GAS AND POST-GAS: To start the welding job, pull the trigger on the torch and the machine will start delivering
gas, which is the pre-gas. Supplying gas before welding ensures that welding takes place in a protective gaseous
atmosphere and improves welding quality.
When you have finished welding, after releasing the trigger, do not remove the torch immediately. The torch continues
to diffuse gas, which reduces the temperature of the surface of the welded part, but guarantees that the solidifying weld
will not oxidise.
SPOT TIG - TIG SPOT WELDING:
with the arc off. When the interval time is equal to 0, this is in fact normal welding, producing a single arc. If the
interval time is not 0, you can weld several points in a row. In the interval time when the arc is extinguished, the
