10. Reinstall the top panel of the PRV-
LX1.
NOTE:
Before installing the top panel, check once
again to confirm that the IDE cables (see
step 9) are securely connected to their
respective connectors on the DVD1 drive,
DVD drive 2 (this unit) and the circuit board
section.
÷ Use the 7 screws removed in step
1 to reinstall the top panel.

11. After checking operation and
settings, attach tray panel 2 to the
drive 2 disc table.
1 Connect the TV monitor to the video
output connector of the PRV-LX1 (this
component); for details consult the
PRV-LX1 Operating Instructions.
2 Connect this component's power plug
to an electrical power outlet, and set
STANDBY/ON button

the rear panel's main power switch to
ON. Then press the front-panel's
STANDBY/ON button to turn on
power.
3 Wait until the unit recognizes the
newly added DVD-R/RW writer unit.

÷ When installing this unit on a
PRV-LX1 to be used outside of
North America, the settings
outlined in steps 4 to 8 must be
followed.
÷ When installing this unit on a
PRV-LX1 to be used in North
America, omit steps 4 to 8 and
go immediately to step 9.
4 The DVD2 disc table will open and the
monitor screen and display will show
the following messages:
