NOTE: This CV boot kit is for outer CV
joints only.
NOTE: Do not handle boot with greasy hands.
Grease residue will prevent proper bond.
First aid response for contact with
supplied grease:
Contact with eyes: Rinse with water for several
minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present. If
eye irritation persists, seek medical attention.
Contact with skin: Wash with soap and water. If
skin irritation occurs, seek medical attention.
Remove contaminated clothing and wash
before reuse.
If inhaled: Remove exposed person to fresh
air. If dizziness, nausea or breathing problems
occur, seek medical attention.
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1:
Raise and support vehicle.
STEP 2:
Remove wheel. Clean wheel well and surrounding area to
ensure no dirt enters joint during boot replacement.
STEP 3:
Remove old CV clamps and boot.
STEP 4:
While wearing eye protection, use an appropriate solvent
to flush CV joint. Allow joint to dry. Check joint for wear
and replace if required.
STEP 5:
Pull boot around the axle using four molded tabs,
ensuring proper fitment based on your vehicle's axle and
hub size. If large diameter step on boot does not provide
a tight fit on joint, pull boot onto joint further to engage
smaller step. Removal of tabs or large step may be
required to fully seat boot.
STEP 6:
If necessary, bring boot to bench and trim/remove tabs
and excess boot material if required.

Disclaimer: It is impossible in these instructions to account for all possible circumstances or situations that you may experience when at-
tempting to install this product. Please consult with a qualified auto technician before attempting to perform any work you are not qualified to
do. Automobiles can be hazardous to work on; be sure to take all necessary safety precautions. Failure to do so may result in property damage
or personal injury. Certain motor vehicle standards and performance requirements may apply to your motor vehicle (such as Federal Motor
Vehicle Safety Standards by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). Be sure that your work is performed in accordance with such
standards and that you do not disable any motor vehicle safety feature.
STEP 7:
Pack CV joint with included grease. Work grease into joint
while turning axle. Do not put grease directly in boot. Any
grease in seam channel will cause boot separation
and failure. Remove any grease from boot and axle
contact points with an appropriate solvent and allow
to dry.
NOTE: Use extreme care to avoid getting grease
into the seam.
STEP 8:
Pull boot around joint. Apply included adhesive liberally
to mating surfaces on housing side, into locking channel
of boot, and interlocking tabs on shaft end of CV boot.
Seam strength increases with cure time, reaching
maximum strength at 16 hours. Allow at least five
minutes cure time before proceeding to next step.
STEP 9:
Large clamp
Small clamp
After adhesive has cured, clamp boot in place. If your kit
includes worm drive clamps, tighten until snug and boot
is secure. Do not overtighten. Trim bands.
STEP 10:
Inspect completed installation by rotating wheel slowly
while observing joint. Boot should rotate evenly.
STEP 11:
The vehicle may be driven immediately. Inspect boot
every 12 months or 12,000 miles. Replacement clamps
and grease are available separately. (Grease is available
as Dorman part numbers 03618 and 614-066. Clamps
are available as Dorman part numbers 614-067, 614-068,
614-069, 03637, 03635, or 03636, depending on size.)
