4-2-3. Power Generation Mode
If the AC output current is higher than AC input current, the AC circuit breaker normally will be tripped and the
machine shut down. But this problem can now be overcome by Power Generation Mode. If the AC output
current exceeds the maximum AC input current, Gemini SC will support the load from both AC input current
and the inverter current together.
See Fig. 21. Here the AC input current is limited at 20 Amps. But this is not enough to supply the output current
(27Amps). In this scenario, Gemini SC will supply the remaining current 27A – 20A = 7A from the battery.
Note: Max AC output is defined by AC input current + Inverter output current but cannot over the AC
input limit current. (based on UL regulation)
4-2-4. Power Support Mode (AC Input Current adjustment)
For the condition of limited AC input current (ex. grid, generator...), Gemini SC provide the option to adjust
the maximum AC input current. Under Power Support Mode, OLP (over load protection) can be tripped based
on your setting of AC input current. Therefore, it can avoid the risk of the over load damage and protect the
input AC power equipment such as the utility power equipment or generator. See Fig. 22.
CAUTION
In order to avoid the over/abnormal voltage risk, the transfer relay will be immediately switched off
when the incoming AC power is failed.
