5 - CLEANING
FRONT AND PAINTED CAST IRON PIECES
It should only be cleaned when the furnace is cold.
Do not use detergent or abrasive products.
GLASS ON THE DOOR
Do not try and clean the glass while the furnace is
in use. We recommend using the Hergom window
cleaner on a cold furnace.
Replacement. The glass of your furnace is
Themoshock, specifically designed for wood and/
or coal furnaces. In the event of breakage, it should
be replaced for another one of the same features.
Contact our Dealer for them to supply you with an
appropriate glass, accompanied by the assembly
and joint instructions.
JOINTS AND SEALING
We recommend a visual inspection of the condition
of the joints (doors, glass, etc.) and the sealing
of the pieces is conducted at the beginning and
middle of each season, to verify whether anything
needs replacing or repairing.
CLEANING OF ASHES
Use a shovel to remove the ashes from the furnace,
then, pour these ashes into a metal container
(make sure the ashes are cold without embers
before doing this). When there is a low volume
of ash, you can remove the cast iron cover (Fig. 9)
and tip the ashes in the ashtray with the help of a
brush. Then this can be removed and the ashes can
be emptied into the metallic container (Fig. 10).

6 - SAFETY
There are potential risks that must be taken into
account when operating your solid fuel furnace,
whatever the brand. These risks may be brought
to a minimum if you follow the instructions and
recommendations given in this manual.
Below we recommend a series of rules and tips, but
above all, we recommend you use your common
sense.
1. Keep away from any combustible material
(furniture, curtains, clothing, etc.) or at a safety
distance of at least 0.90 m.
2. The ashes must be emptied into a metal
container and immediately removed from the
house. (Ensure that they are completely cold
and without embers).
3. Do not use liquid fuels to light your furnace.
Keep away from flammable liquids (fuel, petrol,
alcohol, etc.).
4. Inspect the chimney regularly and clean it
whenever necessary. Also, inspect the state of
the joints, glass, screws, etc.
5. Do not place it near flammable walls, or that
may have some kind of coating susceptible
of being damaged or deformed by the effect
of temperature (varnishes, paint, etc.) Also,
attention must be paid to the upper hot air
vents are not placed over fuel elements.
6. Protect your hands with gloves or other
insulation material, because the opening and
closing handle will get very hot during its
operation.
