Operating Principles

Air is extracted from the areas involved by connecting
the Vort Leto Mev to ducting vents placed in "damp"
areas of the home. The volume of air to be extracted
is set by moving adjustable vents in line with unit
requirements and current legislation. Incoming air, on
the other hand, enters via intakes (e.g. grilles)
positioned on the walls or windows of "lived-in" areas.
Appliances from the Vort Leto Mev range are designed
to ensure comfort in the home with the least possible
use of electricity.

Instructions for use

VORT LETO MEV: An external switch is used for
selecting from the 3 operating speeds available.
VORT LETO MEV RF: in addition to the same switch
as the Vort Leto Mev, this version comes with a solar-
powered remote control unit that allows the following
settings:
• speed 3 positions: Min, Med, Max;
• timer: 4 positions: The unit operates at maximum
speed for the time set: 10 mins, 20 mins, 30 mins,
300 mins. Once the set time has expired, the
appliance will return to operating at its previous
speed.

VORT LETO MEV RF AUTO: this unit differs from the
Vort Leto Mev RF in that it has a Relative Humidity
sensor and a two-way RF remote control unit with an
LCD display that allows the following settings:
• turning the appliance ON and OFF (these
commands can be disabled by the installation
technician);
• the initial V min and V max speed settings (V med is
the average of the V min and V max settings
previously configured). This means that the
procedure for initially configuring the appliance, i.e.
setting the min and max fan speeds in relation to the
needs of each specific unit, consists very simply of
adjusting motor speeds and the degree to which
intake vents need to be opened;
• setting appliance operation modes:
- manual (the speed setting has to be selected by
the user);
- automatic (the speed setting is automatically
selected by the system in line with the degree of
Relative Humidity detected by the sensor).
• selecting (V min , V med or V max ) on the appliance in
Manual mode.
• setting the timer (in Automatic mode, the appliance
will operate at max speed for: 10, 20, 30 or 300
mins).
• displaying:
- the date and time;
- the speed set;
- any Timer setting;
- the average Relative Humidity reading in the areas
involved;
- the code for any apparatus malfunction;
A Relative Humidity sensor automatically sets the
18
(V min or V max ) appliance operating speed in line with
the Relative Humidity in the areas involved.
Use of the Simplified Remote
Control
The simplified remote control has 9 buttons with the
following functions (fig 3):

• Button 1: minimum speed;
• Button 2: medium speed;
• Button 3: maximum speed;
• TIMER button: T10, T20, T30, T300, T OFF: The first
four buttons are for setting the timer to run the
appliance at max speed for 10, 20, 30 and 300
minutes; T OFF is used to cancel timer settings;
once the set period of running at max speed has
expired, the appliance will return to operating at its
previously set speed.
Synchronising the appliance/remote control unit
Before being used, remote control units have to be
synchronised with an appliance. This task is looked
after by the installer.
Synchronising a remote control unit
Remove the cover on the appliance.
Turn the appliance ON.
Wait until the DL2 LED on the appliance starts
flashing.
Press the 1 and the ON/OFF buttons at the same
time. Press the 3 and the T300 buttons at the same
time.
If this sequence has been correctly acquired, 10
seconds after the DL2 LED begins flashing, the
appliance will memorise the remote control unit's ID
and will only accept commands from that unit.
Up to 3 different remote control units can be
synchronised for each appliance. On attempting to
synchronise a fourth unit, the appliance will delete the
setting for the oldest unit.
